Can someone help me program my Pro 96 with this new system? I had my Pro 97 programmed and working great with the old system, but I have no idea where to start with this stuff and searching isn't helping. I assume it's pretty much the same setup as the old system (Motorola, trunked), just digital? Any help is much appreciated.

Its the same, just remember to leave it in the open mode so you can catch all the talkgroups even the ones not yet posted in the db.

Awesome. Thank you.

I should just have to put the control frequency 859.43750 right? There is only one? If I remember right, on the old system, the control channel used to change every day. Does that happen on this system?

Yes if it's active. Running Pro96Com on the active control will identify any alt controls which should be programmed just in case.

I added all the channels listed http://www.radioreference.com/apps/db/?sid=5747 as currently in use on channel 000, 001,002,... and so on. I didn't hear anything, so I added the old control channels in separate banks, 100, 200, 300. I finally started getting stuff on the bank where 858.4375 was programmed. While scanning, when it locks on to an ID, they are all the old IDs from the non-digital system. I thought they were going to be different. It won't work when that channel is not the first one programmed in the bank.

I guess I'm a little upset about this because I had to pay lots of $$$ for a scanner to hear the same thing I was hearing on my old scanner and it appears to be of a worse quality than the old trunked system.

I'll be down in the city this weekend and I'll let you know what I hear and on what CC's. When I was downtown last month, I did hear them on the new P25 system and it was crystal clear.

At one point they were switching back and forth between systems due to issues with the new one. Thats maybe what is going on right now...

Sorry, there have been information updates added about this system to the database listings, but they seemed to have disappeared.

Currently, this system IS NOT in use. It IS on the air, the control channel is decodable; but there is no communications on the system.

Today, 10002 was heard in use, but only a user testing. Have heard very little testing in the last month.

There are major issues with this system.

Is Re-banding need in the STL Area?

I have a couple of Uniden BCD 996T scanners purchased last year before the City went to the P-25 system. My question is...with all the forums about re-banding, does that apply to the sysyem that STL is usuing. If so, what re-banding mods are needed for the 996T's, and where do I find the info? Thanks

For P25 program the new frequencies. If controls remain the same, program them...voice channels will work accordingly. Only the 4 860.xxxx freqs in site 2 will change but it appears they may be replaced with 854.2375 and 854.4125.

Dear lord, please help...

I work in a Municipality as a Police Officer that borders the city of St. Louis. Since St. Louis County and City can't get on the same sheet of music, they use Trunked APCO P25 and we are on plain VHF. On my BCD996, I had all the talk groups, freq's and so on programmed, and it worked great. Naturally a wrench has been thrown in the works. I have tried ID searching, and I get hits from like 3180 to 700000, some digital, most not. Tried to program in the new 10007 type ID's and get nothing. I just bought a bcd396 today to take with me to work, and SAME PROBLEM. Thought I was technically savvy, but it seems not. IF SOMEONE CAN PLEASE HELP THIS IDIOT program his bcd996 and 396, I would be ever so greatful. Step by step would be great. Some of us flatfoots or a little slow on the uptake, so be patient. Anything would help right now.

Thanks, will be awaiting any help.

I work in Maryland Heights, if you want I can probably help you out with getting your 996 and 396 programmed with what you want.

Do you have the programming software to get those loaded up?

Is this system up and running? I can't seem to hear St. Louis City Police. I sometimes get the water department, street department, and such, but not the police. What are they using now? I had it working at the end of the year, but then they had problems and it hasn't worked since. My pro-96 should work fine right?

This system was booming last night. I was picking them up out in Wentzville at 1am this morning. All I got was a few TGs on the PD side, but the signal was strong and audio crisp.
