Standard HX-850s

I'm just curious if anyone has had a chance to use one of these on the water? If so, can you share thoughts about the radio in terms of quality, performance, etc. I really dig its GPS feature. The price is pretty good too.

'Standard' Brand of Radio

I havent used the model your asking about but just to say a bit on the the brand. they make a very very good radio. i have used other models and i was very impressed with there performance.A great performer.I know your asking about a paticular model,but i just wanted to mention my observations on the brand.

Yes I had one of their amateur radios many years ago but it was stolen (along with my car!)
Yaesu bought out Standard several years ago.

Just ordered a HX750S..seems to be the same radio without the GPS. Already had GPS installed on my boat so went with the 750. Both seem to be pretty neat with the floating feature..handy around the water..LOL I will let you know how it works when it arrives.
