Good day, everyone. From my post in Porter County, IN I have always been able to monitor Starcom on Sites, 101, 102, 149, and 115 consistently, and, occasionally, 113. For the past 2 months or so they've all disappeared. I have not changed any settings, save for updating firmware on one of my SDS200s and have not made any changes to my antenna array. I can site lock onto the Lake County site and the meter shows 4-5 bars but it will not decode any transmissions. Does anyone have any thoughts? I'm completely stumped.

Not sure where to put this. There is now a crosspatch from Starcom21 to SARA Quad-Cities system. TG58233. Not sure yet if is this just a one way link. Tonight I have only heard ISP units and dispatch.

There is some sort of exercise going on at a nuclear power plant on the IL/IA border (not sure which). I'm hearing traffic from what I have tagged as "Rock Island County" (RID 410643) on TG 9019 (Former 17A, now "Troop 2 Secondary") regarding this exercise. They keep talking about "coordinating with the Iowa units". You would think a radio patch would be ideal for that ;)

This talkgroup number was observed on the STARCOM21 system and not the SARA Quad-Cities system, correct? Just wanted to clarify.....

TG 2711 that was formerly used as South Central Fire 2 Alternate was receiving key ups and a couple of transmissions from ACDC Fire 2 units (TG 2713) from Addison and Itasca FPD companies. They were using the TG to get in contact to NWCD, however they did not respond over the air.

I noticed this as well. Is there anyone in the group who could advise what TG 2711 is currently used for?

The only real voice traffic that Broadcastify has logged on this TG since January 10th was Addison FD Medic 71 calling Elk Grove to advise that they were enroute for a change of quarters (1/12, 12:54pm). No response heard after two attempts. I thought it might be that they could have been using the wrong TG or that Elk Grove/NWCD weren't monitoring the TG.

Hi all,

Listening to the monthly IL National Guard radio check-in on IL-INC A5 (TG 30341) this morning, the "IL JOC" (Radio 419076) had them switch to "IL-NG 5" (TG 4018) and continued the monthly radio check there. Looks like they've conformed to the new naming scheme plus that's a talkgroup I've not heard before :)

Nice catch, TG 4018 has been added to the Radio Reference SC21 database page. Now to confirm TGs IL-NG 1 through IL-NG 4!

Had a new talkgroup pop up on the affiliation list the last couple of days for T134 (Ottawa). The talkgroup is 22402 and the radios affiliating with it are 10001108 (LaSalle County EMA Base) and 10001122 (LaSalle County EMA Mobile). No voice traffic, just affiliations.

Nice catch, Mikey! I've added it to the Radio Reference SC21 wiki page. It appears to be the first reported 22xxx-series TG both in the database and the wiki.

Hey all

Today, while monitoring, I was following an incident that occurred at the Ethanol Plant in Galva, Fire, Galva PD, Life Flight. At one point I heard a Henry County Deputy communicated with dispatch, indicating their arrival at the Plant and switching to Starcom, requesting no status update.

I understand that Kewanee transitioned to Starcom P25 encryption last year. Additionally, I'm aware that Stark County is in the process of moving to Starcom P25.

I'm curious if Henry County has also decided to transition to Starcom P25 also? Are there any current talk groups available for scanning purposes, or are they planning to adopt full encryption akin to Kewanee's immediate implementation?

Any thoughts or perspectives would be helpful!

Hi all,

It sounds like the drill at the nuclear plant along the IA/IL border is on again today. Hearing patched units with the ID of 410643 (What I have logged as "Rock Island County") on ISP 17A - Troop 2 Secondary (TG 9019) working a drill and the "cloud is moving towards Iowa" LOL

Does anyone have any notes for SC21 talkgroups 6461, 6462, 6463 and/or 6465? All four have seen affiliations and radio checks by RIDs in the 4944xx range (agency/user not identified in the Radio Reference SC21 wiki). RID 494430 self-IDd as "Lincoln Charles 112" during a radio test on TG 6463 (2/1/24). Does that unit identifier sound familiar to anyone?

FWIW, RID 494430 was logged by Broadcastify keying up (no voice) on ISP Troop 3 "A" (TG 9005) on February 22nd.

I haven't personally logged those talkgroups - nice catch! I do have RIDs 493xxx affiliating with "E Peoria FD Patch" (TG 37255) and 495xxx affiliating with "Woodford County FD Dispatch" (TG 6387). It doesn't really narrow down anything except maybe a geographical location :)
