A note was made in the DB that site Argenta/Oreana could be becoming a simcast site. The FCC license for that control channel you noted is for Central Illinois regional dispatch center and is listed under the following licenses WSCC769 WNKZ536 WSCG348

I can't get any signal. I'm in the same area as you. I just see it as a new neighbor to 229 (Normal) in Pro96Com.
I just noticed it Monday of this week. Macon County was also my first thought.

Hearing Glenview Dispatch Fire Department tone outs on TG 33456

This appears to have been a patch to either Highland Park FD's 154.160 dispatch channel or Lake Forest FD's 154.8825 dispatch channel (both are multicast). Currently, the last TG 33456 transmission on Broadcastify is from 11:59am on Thursday, so this TG might not be on the air full-time at this point.

I can confirm that Highland Park and Lake Forest FD dispatch is currently patched to TG 33456. It is live and active.

Can anyone in Decatur, IL area macon co help it seems in this area Starcom 21 has changed frequencies my scanners have went deaf on the old ones and also a friend across town scanner. I have both the Grecom and RS which have been working perfect for several years until the past weeks.

What site were you using? They may have depreciated North and South to make Argenta/Oreana a simcast site.

There's Also A few people have been saying there's a new site that's coming from Macon that isn't identified yet

Seeing a new site 2-64 as a neighbor to the Normal site, control channel is 860.2625. Believe it's coming from Macon County as I can BARELY get a lock on it here on the east side of Bloomington and I'm seeing a lot of traffic from Springfield and Decatur talkgroups. Interestingly enough, I'm showing sites 2-1 (Argenta), 2-28 (Decatur North) and 2-36 (Decatur South) as non-active on the neighbor list and the frequencies I'm showing look like they've come from those sites. So far I've noted these frequencies in use:

851.3125 (from site 2-1)
851.8375 (was a CC for site 2-1, now just a voice channel)
853.9000 (Alt. CC) (from site 2-36)
856.3125 (Alt. CC) (from site 2-36)
860.2625 (CC) (was listed as a voice channel under both site 2-1 and 2-28)
860.4625 (from site 2-36)

Unfortunately can't tell a whole lot else, it's barely strong enough for Unitrunker and DSD to acknowledge there's anything there. I'm a little surprised I can get it at all.

NAC is 143. Site neighbors are 2-1 (inactive), 2-2, 2-3, 2-6, 2-14, 2-17, 2-26, 2-27, 2-28 (inactive), 2-29, 2-30, 2-34, 2-36 (inactive), and 2-63.

Over the past few days, I have seen silent key-ups and affiliations by IDOT District 1 and 2 units on what appear to be four "new" IDOT District 1 talkgroups - 33810, 33814, 33818 and 33819. I have not had previous loggings for these talkgroups going back two years.

Does anyone have any additional information for these talkgroups?

These talkgroups have been added to the Radio Reference STARCOM21 database page.

I am now suspecting that Decatur, Macon Co have switched to phase 2 can anyone confirm or deny this on Starcom 21

Happy New Year everyone! It is "in the cards" that I'll be moving back into Dupage County from North Carolina this very month where I grew up, and literally used to do "scanner chasing" physically, took photos, and had them published in newspapers going back to the 1980's when I was a teenager, and most recently with my children through the early 2010's. I still monitor DuComm, and even have an 𝕏 account where I drop audio of various "newsworthy" calls. I hope to add pictures and videos as long as I'm able to monitor on Broadcastify!View attachment 175590

Maybe you can help me? I am trying to get DU-COMM Fire North on my SDS100. Specifically want to hear Glenside Fire. But I am not able to hear any traffic, even when in close proximity of Glendale Heights (+-5 miles) Does this look correct in Sentinel?

You only have the McHenry County Simulcast site loaded in. Try adding the DuPage Simulcast site and see if that helps.

Ok I think I see what you’re saying. So I need to add the Ducomm simulcast frequency but not the talk group I have in the above image? When would I add the talk group over the simulcast site?

I have the talkgroups added, but when I try and add the simualcast site its grayed out in Sentinel (see below)

I was able to manually add them and can receive now traffic, however before every broadcast there is 1-2 seconds of loud static, then the broadcast comes in clear at normal volume. Is there any way to remove the static before the broadcast?

The squelch is probably set to zero. Change the squelch level to "2" and you should be fine.

Quick question, I have an SDS100 and I monitor the Will/Grundy Site and I'm wondering if my signal is weak because of the stock antenna I'm using or because there's a cell tower nearby or because I'm not close to the tower which Is about 3 miles away. If it is the antenna is the Remtronix antenna a good one, if so which exact one should I get for Starcom21? I'm in the Plainfield area trying to reach sites 1 and 3 of callsigns WRAQ940 WRAQ941 Thanks.

Plainfield & Wescom Police 2 dispatch channels are currently patched together started past 10:30 p.m tonight. Is this a new thing for overnights or are they permanently moving Plainfield to police 2?
