You got to run a $20 purchase by the XYL? wow!
You deserve coal in your stocking LOL
Its not the 20 purchase its the sticking the thing in my window with the wire running through the house. I showed here the alternative 3 foot tall discone one and she said oh I like the little one better lol. I would rather wood pellets than coal! lol

Merry Christmas RJ Welcome aboard to Maryland Milair :)
Thank you I would love to hear that far away. I am in the Lehigh Valley quite regularly for work so I may even take the antenna with me and see how far I can hear. Merry Christmas to you and everyone here on RR. This place teaches me so much.

I have a similar problem, CinCHouse doesn't like outside antennas so I put mine up in our attic.

I have my ADSB antenna and the OTA tv antenna already in our attic. Putting the scanner antenna up there wouldn't be the biggest deal but running the wire really is the problem. It is really hard to hide it where I need it. Eventually it would be nice to go wireless with the ADSB and then put a dedicated mini computer for the scanner. But time and money aren't my friend.

I would love a flag pole or atleast on the peak of my roof but we don't have a ladder that will reach and I can't justify renting a lift just for that.

My discone & the Monarch are hanging from the rafter near the roof peak, about 20 ft off the ground.

There's a big plus side to an attic antenna. Don't have to worry about lightning strikes, high winds or snow/ice. easier to get to to change/repair.
