2042 local Rare good copy on CG 345.000 CG6560 MH-65D with Atlantic City Air .We are at 5k feet..Be there in 10 minutes.
"Long trip in from Miami" Let Ground services know. CG6560 seems to be one of A/C's normally local choppers.
Maybe did some Potus CAP work down there.

Mark,

Nice catch. I've never heard anything on 345 in this area.

Got lucky as CG came in from SW to A/C at altitude of 5k.Usually they are at 1500 feet and
hugging the shore like occasional HC-130J that stops at A/C.. I forgot I even had that freq in rotation :)
Not much scheduled today. Dover has C-5M to Charleston AFB later around noon which is kind of unusual.
Must be pickup too big for their C-17's.

We get a decent amount of activity on 345.000 and 237.900 with intercept training ops along the New Jersey shore. As Mark indicated they are usually low altitude and either intercepting CG helo to CG helo or practicing with CAP aircraft as the intercept target.

In the DC area the CG MH-65s at Reagan National used to doing intercept training on 157.05. But haven't heard them there for awhile. There have been some local reports of the old ADW CP freq 141.55 being active in P-25 mode & postulating that's being used by the CG helos.

Somewhat off topic but interesting.
Eventually by this coming Summer he vacays at Rehoboth and will make for interesting local CAP.
I guess no beach banner planes etc,and where would you circle the fighters?
Over the Ocean/Bay between Cape May and Cape Henlopen (Terry's pick :)) or inland over Sussex Farm country?
Maybe racetrack circle just a ways South of Dover AFB between Milford and Lewes.. Guess they will figure it out.
Almost forgot a couple A/C CG Choppers to boot.

Here is my guess.....aircraft landing at BWI and Washington area airports usually descend through the area near the mouth of the bay (see the red line) and they are at 25K and below. So my guess is the area highlighted in yellow. In between High and Low altitude routes - and adjacent to the warning area. By the way, I heard that Cape May County airport will be the base for F16 / F22 / F35 / AWACS / E4B aircraft too. Or maybe that was something I heard in a dream . I know The Company guys like the airfield restaurant for food so you never know.

ZDC could change those BWI approaches across the Bay? That way you could get real audio and occasional visual
on the CAPs :) Maybe a tanker track right over the Mouth of the Bay? Nah prob go down to W-386 area to tank.
