A little more info

Top of Form
Hello Delaware Coastal Airport aeronautical tenants,

A Head’s-up.

We knew this day would come sooooo, expect a Rehoboth Beach TFR to be issued effective Wednesday, June 2nd through Friday, June 4th.

Also, unlike the maps shows below, I anticipate a 12 Nautical Mile Radius Inner ring (absolute no-fly zone). If indeed a 12 NMR Inner Ring is imposed, that 12 NMR fall within ½ NM of the GED Airport.

Please familiarize yourself with the below example of language common to a TFR.

One final note: You will see a lot of military activity on the GED Airport next week (temporary radar installations and USCG helicopters)

Thanks All,

Bob

Thanks - just to clarify - I am not confused but the information provided might confuse some VFR pilots trying to get to Cape May Airport KWWD and Delaware Coastal KGED amongst other smaller airfields. While the inner circle looks nice - they will chase anyone inside the TFR boundary away. Just place the big red circle on the attached over Biden's beach house and you will see that a lot of the general aviation aircraft that like to come into the two main beach airports in NJ and DE might have an issue unless they file a flight plan. We get a lot of activity Friday through Monday (over the summer) at KWWD that is VFR with transponder code 1200.....that will be turned away.

These next four years of CAPs are going to run the Pittsburg PA ANG & McGuire birds into the ground.

Best way to get new aircraft is to wear out your old ones......no matter who the POTUS is ..... someone somewhere will be utilizing their aircraft for the CAPs. Imagine if in the future the new POTUS was from Alaska or Hawaii........now that might really wear down some aircraft just getting there.

Without a doubt this will be a big headache, as has long been discussed, but I guess that's why the FAA strongly urges all pilots to check the TFRs.

It's not a problem if equipment is worn down, it is the toll it takes on the pilots and aircrews every weekend. Not a great incentive for retaining good people.

It can be a headache for anyone anywhere - just depends on where you want to fly into.

About the only place that would not have a problem is the presumed vacation house that is located in AREA 51. Although that is normally used for off-world vacation trips.

Oh wait I was not supposed to mention about the Star Gate location. Here comes those black suburbans again. They were here yesterday for lunch. Getting expensive to feed these guys.

That is called flight time and looks great on any pilot resume when the numbers are higher than normal. Not the best if you want to travel to places but the Pittsburgh and McGuire folks are close to home and get home in time for dinner.

Yeah they shifted tanker track due to wx. They were already working up tp FL 290 and fighters
were talking about icing conditions.. Looks much better in current location.

In the past KC-135 tankers would come from all over the US for CAP duty. Seems just recently tankers have
been mostly local. Maybe trying to save on fuel..

Future wx radar forecast has most of this bad wx shifting East and South by 4pm.
Then shows possible coastal storms around Savannah area.. Getting back and forth from there could be a problem.

I didn't know that Singapore had an Air Force

When I was working out there we'd frequently see and hear the F15s RTB. Although, I was the only one in the office who would run to the windows :):)

Potus CAP back up again this morning with Tanker WINK-99 KC-10 #79-1949 and NOBLE 1+2. A/A 370.975
WINK-99 called McGuire CP to have them check the runway as they think they struck a bird upon takeoff.
NOBLE 1 tells NORAD that low cloud ceilings will prevent them from going below 2k cloud deck to work any targets.
I got 48 degrees here and on track for coldest average Memorial day weekend since May 25 1924 which had a high of 54 degrees.
Monday finally looks better as back up to near 70 forecast.
Later this morning 10:30am Potus motorcades over to Del Memorial Bridge plaza in New Castle for a service.. Shouldn't change anything much.
Guess will stay in and watch some of the nice wx at Indy 500 race.
0655 local WINK-99 with Huntress 228.900 says will depart station at 1410z but can stay to 1800z but depends on fuel offload numbers.
NOBLE 1 says "we as two ship combined burn about 7k an hour fuel for your calculations".

0900- Noble 11 flt taking over CAP duty at FL260. Noble 01 flt heading back to Savannah working ZDC Brooke (285.45) & ZDC Blackstone (235.625)
Rgr Ron NOBLE-11 at 0938 local says we are keeping in confines of CAP but moving West A/A 373.825.
Wx sure doesn't look good again for T-Birds and BethPage airshow today.. Almost like a Noreaster low.
Worse wx is closer to the shoreline.
Update.. Airshow is cancelled at Jones Beach :( For refunds you got to send them an e-mail..
Bethpage Air Show | at Jones Beach State Park

1014 local WINK-99 will stay on station to 1720z then WINK-17 will take over on 238.900

Mark,

Again 373.825 was confirmed as Aux 14. Noble 01 flt & 11 flt were chatting during the handover. Noble 01 told 11 that they used channel 37 during their CAP since they couldn't see anyone on channel 43. Noble 11 told him that he could see everybody on channel 43 & that they would use channel 43. Some sort of situational radar/display?
