1642- Spur 99 (KC-10 # 85-0033) working ZNY Big Flat (132.2)>ZNY Joliet (120.025). Looks to be heading back to WRI.

Thought maybe SPUR-99 was related to what I heard but guess not. SPUR-99 came direct McGuire from Travis at FL 390.
Must be staging at McGuire for someone later :)1638398676205.png

1839 KING-73 HC-130J #16-5873 from Gabreski running low levels off VA Cape Charles. On the way down he tried Giant Killer on 361.300
no reply heard. Had that freq in my rotation as GK for a long time rarely hits. Is that GK North or South freq?

From the Wiki..

A C-32B with airstair deployed.
The 45-seat C-32B Gatekeeper[14] provides airlift to the U.S. government's Gate Keeper (GK) mission, a special access program which provides clandestine support to foreign nations through unclassified State Department Foreign Emergency Support Team missions and classified special operations and intelligence missions.[15][2][16] The aircraft are operated by two different units, the New Jersey Air National Guard's 150th Special Operations Squadron at Joint Base McGuire-Dix-Lakehurst, New Jersey, and the 486th Flight Test Squadron at Eglin Air Force Base, Florida.[17][18] The C-32Bs operate at the direction of the Commander of U.S. Special Operations Command, though when serving a civilian agency, approval for the use of the aircraft is on the recommendation of the committee of Deputy Secretaries of Defense with the consent of the Secretary of Defense.[citation needed] The development of the two aircraft emerged from the 2001 Air Force budget, where they were procured for $144.963 million to fill an Air Force request for transportation capabilities for the Foreign and Domestic Emergency Support Teams.[19] The Gate Keeper mission predates the aircraft, which are successors to previous fleets based on other models of aircraft. The planes have been spotted throughout the world, including such locations as Area 51 and the Tonopah Test Range, as well as nearly every country.

KING 73 never went south into W-72. Good coverage of GK W-72 361.300 on the LiveATC KNTU GK feed (even though it's not listed as a frequency covered). Checking the archives you could hear KING 73 calling GK on 361.300, who then told them to contact the correct GK W-386 controller on 238.100. KING 73 said they were going to do AR with (sounded like) SHOCKER (?) 41 in the Atlantic Test Track D. Not sure who SHOCKER (?) 41 is, not showing up on ADSB-X ?

Anyone know if there's a carrier playing around in W-72? If not anyone know what was up with 7 T-38s from Langley going into W-386, breaking up into 3 flights of 2, 2, and 3 about 20-25 nm abreast heading down into W-72? I monitor the Langley T-38s out of Langley pretty often and they usually just play in W-386, and I've never seen them do anything like this before. This was around 10:20 local this morning. Sorry I didn't get more info, I'm having some computer issues. Yesterday I saw a Hawker Hunter and an ATAC Kfir go down in W-72 also.
Wonder if some or all this W-72 action is for the USS Harry Truman departure today including that KING-73 flight from Long Island?

TERRA 59 was the callsign while at Syracuse.

Not sure if it was a Carrier but did hear some helos today working GK going to a "USS Ship". A few days ago GK was cautioning traffic due to a - "aviation capable ship established in the vicinity of W72 with possible ships traffic not in comms with Giant Killer". However didn't hear that today.

The T-38s seemed to be part of that big excercise this morning working with SCREWTOP and WUHAN. Using callsigns I've never seen before.

DG = DOG
HD = HOUND
MT = MUTT

Sounded like it was the Snakes against the Dogs. KFLI T-38s

Not always. The RCAG for the Patuxent area is near Martinsburg, WV.

I have been monitoring the 132.275 frequency and the controller on there seems to control flights inbound to New York area that flow west of Pax River (from SW to NE tracks). I would call that fairly close but I see your point. Still in most scenarios - the RCAG tends to control flights nearby. You usually put the remote site where it will be most effective (whether for airborne activity or ground activity).
