NASA 436 working the southern part of Viper briefly this morning, sounded like they were doing some sort of aircraft checks.

That NASA (former USCG) C-130 was undergoing overhaul up in Rome, NY -- looks like the delivery flight back to KWAL / Wallops.

Looks like the President will be spending New Years in the Caribbean. Keep an eye out for C-17s headed there.
1415 local SAM-031 C-37A #97-0401 climbing out of San Juan Northbound. USSS dropoff?

1425 BOBBY-71 KC-135 TN ANG #59-1517 off Tennessee to offshore NC dodging wx at FL270 now inbound East Coast Fla at FL270.
Run somebody down the Coast to San Juan?

Checking the Viper Common 226.300 tape from this afternoon (1830Z-2030Z). Had VT ANG F-35s HELLCAT 11 and CRAZY 21 (x2) working Viper. Then after they left had SLAY 1 (x4) enter for some dog fighting for 35 minutes. Maybe the callsign was SLEIGH, being the Holidays and all ? Broke into two groups using SLAY 1-2 vs BANDIT 1-2. SLAY is a new callsign for me (not on Ron's the list). Postive ID as F-15s and all 4 RTB KBAF so presumably MA ANG.

2020 local Don't know why but have TOPCAT-7 McGuire KC-135 with EPIC-41 C-17 NC ANG on 363.075 ZOB Altoona freq
but both hovering down this way.. EPIC-41 looks like after A/R work down South headed into Dover. Maybe bleed over from nearby freq
since both were so close to me at the time.

Thank Mark, nice log !!

Soundclip of the first cell with their ALTRV clearance: CE058
René.
Thanks René. Notice on coms before they get to HF territory they had them push AIRINC on 129.900.
That is same 129.900 ARINC freq used down here in Mid-Atlantic area as just heard JETBLUE-696 with ARINC from Atlanta enroute Boston having medical issues with pax aboard and will continue onto Boston.Had that freq labeled years ago here as ZNY Oceanic.
ARINC used to be 129.450 around here.

129.900 (for us in the Mid-Atlantic area) covers the coastal areas and out over the Atlantic. It is the same ARINC (now part of Collins Aerospace) that uses 129.450 plus many others along with HF frequencies as well. As you read various documents you will find that San Francisco Radio has taken over the domestic USA portion while New York Radio handles the Atlantic and coastal USA along the eastern seaboard.

Some transmitter remote sites are

WGU7 located at 10700 Coastal Highway Ocean City MD N38-24-56.0 W 075-03-23.0 on top of a hotel or condo building

WHH9 located at JFK International Airport N40-38-24.4 W073-46-40.5 located on the airfield

WQPY524 located at 81 Edge of Woods Rd South Hampton, NY N40-55-15.4 w072-23-39.3 out in the woods behind some nice houses

New York Radio HF site is WLK7 and located here....nice HF log periodic antenna !!

WQYA788 located at Norfolk International Airport Norfolk VA N36-53-46.7 W076-12-07.1 located at the airfield

Some more information can be found at this direct link

Coastal VHF Maritime Canada to Virginia 129.90 MHz

Looked it up he is out of Langley

Justin

Only two UH60s were in Atlantic City's control area yesterday about the time you reported this helo. Both are out of Lakehurst NJ and part of NJ Guard.

18-21028
18-21031

Based on tracking and monitoring LiveATC - KACY the UH 60 18-21031 was ROGUE44. 18-21028 was doing low level flying along the coast north of Atlantic City below 1000 feet.

Hope this helps.

0930- Team 32 (KC-10 # 79-1710) & Gold 72 (KC-10 # 79-1711) off WRI heading west. Flew as formation until north of Harrisburg PA when they split and Gold 72 turned back towards Harrisburg & Team 32 continued on heading west. Looks like Gold 72 is heading back to WRI. Inflight issue?

GOLD 72 was TEAM 31, guess they never updated it after their last flight. Working ZNY 124.625 TEAM 31 said they had to return to WRI "immediately" but didn't give a reason, "no assistance required". TEAM 32 continued on and was asking about the WARDOG and AXEMAN flights. Looks like they are AR with them now (1000 to 1100 EST) in the Duke MOA.
