NOBLES come up on ZDC 307.250 trying to stay above the wx and towards the Southwest
where it seems smoother. Probably no Cessna types to deal with in this wx.
Should clear out around noon local.
ADVICE-63 has moved up to FL310 to avoid the fighters.
0734 Hearing NOBLES overhead my way in nearby Maryland

0635 ADVICE-63 #58-0054 entering CAP area with Huntress 260.900. Tells them that wx runs to at
least FL28.5 and clear above that. Huntress told them apparently plan is for 25-26k and ADVICE-63
says we can go down to that but the fighters are not gonna like it.. Now talk of changing the block to FL290-FL300.
0655 NOBLE-01,02 to tanker 247.050. Tails 125 and 428,"You guys North Dakoters? Rgr that.

More info on that Greek F-16 now flying US Reg..

1010 local NOBLES 1,2 clearing out soon rtb Savannah via Richmond on ZDC 307.250
NOBLE's push Aux-13 come up on A/A 293.300, worrying about wx at Savannah.
Looking at McEntire ANG base and Montgomery Al as possible divert.
1022 ADVICE -64 #58-0049 calling Huntress inbound CAP.Blocking 300-320.
NOBLE 11,12 taking over CAP.. Sure some big snow flakes coming down here now.

Living in South Jersey, hearing the CAP pretty clear was interesting listening today.

Curious if anyone is within monitor distance of Huntress ground comms. I understand them to be stationed out of Rome NY. Curious what the other side of the comms sounds like.
Huntress has various remote transmitters they can pick from, choosing the closest one for the mission. During the Trump CAP in NJ, I was able to hear Huntress a few times but weak.

Curious why 108th from McGuire wasn't used? Seems they would be closer.
First tanker from Pittsburgh,second tanker from Michigan..
I know being closer makes sense but thats not how these CAP missions always get assigned.

1102 local ADVICE 63 calling his home CP on 311.000.One writeup auto pilot oscillations of 100 feet.

As I undestand there are a myriad of factors that go into choosing who is CAP tanker. Alot of it is based on units who need the CAP training to complete their training , operational acft available etc.

McGuire tankers have gotten alot of use lately, so maybe their acft "need a rest" and the crews are up to date on their AAR training. Part of the AAR training is the flight to & from the CAP for front end training. Trip out of McGuire would not provide that.

I think that same reasons for xhoice of which fts pull CAP duty apply.

Maybe someone else can provide more info?

I have never heard the ground or non aircraft side of anything while monitoring MilCom.
NOBLE 11 was asking for a VHF freq for VHF radio comm check, BIGFOOT advised no tunable(s) in that area.

Anyone know what they were referring too as Tuneable(s)?
