Short story about Alert CFS as about 7 years ago an electrician I used to work with got deployed to CFS Alert station
with fellow Construction Battalion members of Del National Guard in July to construct a storage warehouse and
had only 3 weeks to complete it.Short Summer construction season way up there :)
Transportation provided by Wyoming ANG C-130's as seemed they had skilled experience in that type climate.

it's a cool place (pun intended). In one episode of Ice Pilots NWT they have to deliver snowmobiles for an exercise and the camera crew was only allowed film the plane unloading nothing else.

The collect a lot of interesting SIGINT up there.

1120- Getting some nice, very clear xmitter ftr comms out in W386. Using freqs 314.4, 238.1, 292.3 & 350.05. Must be the visiting VT ANG F-35s. Boy, they are nice and clear. Hope they stay around for awhile. F-35s also working w/Steel 71 (KC-135R # 59-140 PA ANG) on AR 636 (238.9) coordinating times at IP. ADS-B showing four T-38s (71st FS) also out in W386. Hope they pull CAP duty this weekend.

314.400 and 238.100 are known VT ANG frequencies. I see you have 292.300 listed as a GK frequency for W386 but don't see it listed in the SOP. Is this like a "common" frequency or are they using it for "TAC" A-A ? The times I have listened to the LiveATC feed covering W386 I've never heard 292.300 mentioned.

292.3 is a W386 common freq but I don't for which area of W386. In this case, 238.1 was used as the normal Giantkiller check in freq.

1150- tuned into LiveATC for Langley and sounds like the F-35s using callsign CUBE.

On the LiveATC W386 archive I heard the F-35s using the callsign KINGFISH 11 (known VT callsign), they were working with OXEN, MIDAS and VIKING. At 1150 on the KLFI tape I hear JEEP 01 and GRIM 01 (known F-22 callsigns) but no CUBE ? On the 1600Z W386 archive after they did the AR with STEEL the F-35s got clearance to RTB back to KBTV.

1310- Getting KINGFISH 11 up here now A-A on 314.400.
