Unknown prop sounding planes passing me here in Kentucky around 0115Z/9:15 pm. They chat on 239.15 about fuel stops in Bermuda and possibly Lajes if needed on the way to Rota, Spain. Nothing showing on ADSBExchange.

Audio clip attached.

You can hear them arriving into BDA on the LiveATC Approach/ZNY feed 0400Z-0430Z archives. Callsigns sounded like DREE (?) 61 and 63. Checked on with New York at FL230 and FL210 via ENAPI. Except for the prop sound no clue on the type given.

Sounds like single engine turbo prop and since they came from Midwest (Textron) was thinking delivery of new T-6C Texan II perhaps.
Tunisia has some on order for this year. They have only 1000 mile range but could have temp aux fuel tanks for delivery purposes.
Just a WAG :)

In my original clip one of the planes figures that she needs 23,400 pounds of fuel over Lajes to arrive at Rota with 9,600 pounds. A T-6C fully loaded weighs something like 7,000 pounds so I don't think those are the planes.

The callsign does sound like DREE on the LiveATC tapes and both planes check in on the Control Tower Advisory Frequency of 122.8 when they land at Bermuda.

Another clue, on the second leg to LERT they were both cleared to maintain 300 knots TAS at FL210/FL230 with their oceanic clearance. Kinda sounded like Hercs to me ?
