The Marines VMR-1 are making some changes to their pax transport fleet.
Retiring some of the old Cessna UC-35D's for more UC-12W's and two C-40A's.
Used to be based at Andrews but keep moving West soon all the way to Hawaii by 2024.
Marine Corps to Neck Down Operational Support Aircraft Types; Increase Indo-Pacific Capabilities - Seapower (seapowermagazine.org)

I don't think the article is accurate based on what the USMC Aviation Plan lays out on page 140. Kaneohe Bay is supposed to eventually transition to C-40s, but as an active unit - whereas VMR-1 is reserves. VMR-1 will receive their final aircraft by FY24, not move by FY24.

It appears that SAM973 is hanging out at Elmendorf EDF. Landed just after AF1 departed from their fuel stop.

I suspect that 09-0018 fueled and is in theater in Asia somewhere by now, probably under another callsign.

I remember you were able to flush 09-0017 out of hiding on the recent AF1 Europe trip. (y)

Do you know what time they landed in Krakow? I'm going through LiveATC archives to see if they're still using RCH267 c/s.

Edit: I hear RCH270 checking in w/ Krakow EPKK Approach at 1150Z. Nothing on ADSB.

A familiar side story on an AF1 trip is the Secret Service advance team getting drunk and having an issue with the locals. A friend's son was given a rookie protective detail assignment years ago guarding Senator Obama. He loved the job, loved the Secret Service, but just couldn't take the party culture on the road which cost him a divorce. He transferred to another federal agency.

Biden security team member arrested in S.Korea for drunk assault -police
By Joori Roh

SEOUL, May 20 (Reuters) - A member of U.S. President Joe Biden's advance security team has been arrested in Seoul, accused of drunkenly assaulting a South Korean citizen a day before Biden arrived on a visit, police said on Friday.

The team member, who works for the U.S. Department of Homeland Security, was detained in the early hours of Thursday after getting into a fight over a taxi, an official at Yongsan district police told Reuters.

The incident occurred outside the Grand Hyatt hotel, where Biden is expected to stay.

The police official did not give the name or other information on the suspect.

The Department of Homeland Security did not immediately respond to a request for comment. The White House referred questions to the Secret Service, which did not immediately respond.

The Homeland Security department includes the Secret Service, the agency that guards the president. Secret Service members have periodically been involved in incidents over misbehavior overseas in the past.
