Hopefully while servicing there they will disable weapons.. MN F-16's probably don't have Gatling guns or do they?
This accident back in 2018 and seems like yesterday always amazes me.. That poor mechanic must have lost it besides hearing after it happened.
Didn't know the F-22 Raptor also uses same gun.. At work we always say and do. "Lockout,Tagout".

And when pulling the guns pin, the pilots were supposed to hold their hands above their heads to show they weren't anywhere near the trigger.

Its very easy to finger the trigger, an A-10 in NJ a few years ago blasted a minivan that way.

F16's have a 20MM M61A1 Vulcan Gatling gun , I'm pretty sure they wouldn't be considered mission capable if there were issues with the gun. In a addition most common fighters have some sort of weight on wheels (WOW) switch mechanism that prevents the firing of ordinance while the aircraft has its landing gear down, and weight on the wheels. These mechanisms can be bypassed for ground firing of the gun, which as we have seen can occur.
