I just turned it on in time to see the Leapfrogs chutes get tangled, cut away and reserves deployed.

Here's the two 'Frogs right after they cut away the main chutes and deployed the orange reserve chutes.

1429- HMX-1 helos running between JFK and the Manhattan heliports. Looks like maybe doing practice runs for an upcoming trip. One was circling Governors island, the other circling over the East River.

Blue Angels just finished their show at NAS Oceana. I was able to monitor traffic on 237.8, 275.35 and 284.25.

I haven't been to an airshow in a couple of years...do they still have ladders at static-display aircraft so you can look into the cockpit? Or those you can get into? If yes, does anyone have pictures of frequency cards? Thanks!

My shuttle bus is being held outside the gate. Lame.

Was already inside and at the fence, caught the choppers arrive and the Bidens wave from the stair. Didn't make it to an open spot for the takeoff. Great show, it was well done by the USAF and PG Police. Also didn't know they made 5 stars but passed one.

There were air stairs, I toured a KC-10 early, kids were in the cockpit. I'd say the crowd was big. Way more than I could catch in a day, especially on foot.

Andrews Ramp opens at 9am tomorrow for the Open House, and guess what will be happening a bit later.

This should be a treat to see.

Bit OT but Carrier Nimitz CVN-68 into San Diego today from home base Bremerton Wash for a Month of pre deployment exercises...
Probably head back to the Asia China sea area. Sure looks hazy there in San Diego.. Bad time for clear air in California period.

Digital cockpits have significantly diminished preset cards. You can still find them in most Navy helicopters and occasionally A-10 canopy rails, maybe the occasional KC-135 - not much else.

Seems the 193rd SOW at Harrisburg Pa has flown their last EC-130J (BATON) training flight.
Rare views from the backend of this unique C-130J. Note radio dial on their CP freq 395.100
