I haven't been to an airshow in a couple of years...do they still have ladders at static-display aircraft so you can look into the cockpit? Or those you can get into? If yes, does anyone have pictures of frequency cards? Thanks!

Hello Jetwash-
Unfortunately, with the exception of a rare army helo, the days of comm cards in the cockpit are over. Most a/c are now "glass" and no more paper cards. This weekend at the ADW airshow, I looked in the cockpits of A-10s, F-15Es, UH-1s, H60s and C-130s No cards in any except a Davidson AAF helo. :(

I was very happy to shoot "the big" Air Force One landing at Dover AFB a week ago. Never imagined I'd get to shoot it taking off at Andrews just a few days later! I'm just starting to go through the photo cards (358 shots on the Nikon alone o_O) but thought I'd share this one - not exactly a group of aircraft you see together every day...

Motorcade enroute to Stansted Airport for the return trip to JBA. Unfortunately EGSS is not on LiveATC.

Grim99 73-1676 and 09-0015 headed west apparently returning to the states as well.

Unfortunately, none of the airports in the United Kingdom have LiveATC feeds due to some law about a radio receiver tax or something. However, there are UK tunable online receivers and airport webcams that don't seem to be affected by HRH's online receiver regulations.

It appears that 09-0015 is traveling as SAM 78 again today.

KC-10 HOIST 81 is dragging the Thunderbirds home to Nellis after the airshow at Andrews.

Tanker comms on 352.6, Thunderbirds chat on Aux 1 149.65 AM.

It turns out that T-bird 3 had an extra rider for the Saturday ADW show. She had a bee or other insect in the cockpit that was trying to get under her helmet visor while she was performing. T-bird 2 noticed that she was giving some extra hand signals while flying the diamond. ;)

T-bird 1 has previously mentioned some updated data collection program being developed to help train future crews. The question is raised about what is archived and whether anyone is really sitting down and watching the recordings with heads up display data superimposed. A candid answer is given in the Aux 1 clip attached to this post.

Last week saw Antonov 124 on FR24, tried to drill in for detail but no public access, EU privacy regs.
