from tape 0910 local RIVER-91 flight of 3 climbing up to 5k VFR on ZDC UHF.Then mentions KNTU.
Which ZDC UHF freq was it?

Checking LiveATC there was a RIPPER 91 that checked on with Potomac Wooly* Sector at around 0920 (controller only), VFR at 8500 mentioned airwork around Hagerstown, multiple vectors around BWI arrivals then cleared direct Hagerstown, handed off to Potomac 338.250 around 0932.

*at the time Wooly was combined with other sectors.

Thanks Air going back and relistening it was RIPPER-91.. Sure does sort of sound like RIVER LOL
Must be VFA-11 returning though did hear him say climbing to 5k VFR. Maybe they made a stop or T+G
around here.

Mil mode s has that mode as unknown possible #162151 C-2A type from VRC-40.

Joel,

I agree. Especially since Eielson is a Fairbanks which is a fair distance away from the Bering Straits. Scramble fro Eielson would take more time than using the F-22s at Elmendorf.

At one point, there used to be occasional deployments with the F15's to Shemya AK for alert duty. This was many years ago.

Sounds like they might have originated in the area ? Didn't hear them depart or T+G at BWI, MTN, DOV though ?

Check in time and frequency.

0900 Potomac LiveATC BWI Final (UHF?)
0910 Potomac 317.425
0920 Potomac 307.900
0933 Potomac 338.250
0944 Potomac 306.925
0955 Potomac 269.625

Listening again it sounds like some controllers might be saying REAPER ?

RIPPER 91 LiveATC Audio (controller only)

Thanks, callsign is WOODY 42.
Rgr caught tail end of WOODY-42 thought may have been commercial type on ZDC Smyrna 132.050
pushing up over to New Jersey I was searching around like crazy with so much traffic.
Yeah coming out of Fayetteville NC was sure giveaway. Seems a lot of those Army types down that way use
8 goose eggs in their callsign id. Had fun watching my Phillies win it tonight.. :)

WOODY-42 coming back from Pease tonight..

Yeah She sounds like REAPER and RAPER.. LOL Sounds like they were fooling around with Annapolis Naval Academy flyovers.
Odd way to rtb via Luray Caverns Va area? I don't even have those Southern Potomac freqs programmed. Nice flight freq log :)
Controllers seemed worried. Where you guys going next?

2135 local IAF-696 B707 inbound Dover with ZDC 127.700 then Dover apch 132.425.

Probably due to VIP departure
This Prez makes me angry.. Knows bad wx inbound this afternoon so you would think hey lets cut vacation short a bit
and get back to DC.. But No he rarely does that making things more difficult for pilots and crews and everyone.. Grrr.
Never saw a Prez so allergic to the WH.
2008 local AF-1 departing Dover push Potomac Balt 124.550.... IAF-696 cleared to land on apch 132.425.
