Friends of ours live in The Villages in FL. They've done several Honor Flts (as escorts--or Guardians as they are called) from FL up here. We've a team that meets them at BWI when they arrive we give all the vets (mostly Korean War & Vietnam--but a few WWII) a rousing, flag waving, shaking hands welcome in the terminal. They board their buses and are given a motorcycle escort by one of the local vet riders club. Quite an emotional experience. Some times they even get a police escort down to DC by the Park Police

Southwest used to provide the acft free of charge but they've dropped out in the last year or so and Allegiant has picked them up.

1607 local got some A/A coms on 374.100 mention 55 minutes to base.Faded fast.

Funny boom coms on 247.050 NOBLE says ex-Navy here saying he likes the colors on the TEFLON-13 KC-46.
"I eat crayons and like colors" TEFLON-13 says "I thought you were ex Navy not Marines" LOL
NOBLE's A/A 268.200

Sure are a lot of ex-Navy pilots flying F-15s in ANG units these days. Seems every F-15c squad thru here has
a ex Navy pilot or more.. Prob not a hard stretch to go from active F/18's to ANG F-15's. :)

Had TEFLON 12 working TEFLON 11 on 247.500 as they headed to take over. No ADS-B this time. Later contacted HUNTRESS 260.900 and got the correct boom freq of 247.050.

In other news, 27th FS returned from Nellis today. Heard them eastbound with ZID in the late afternoon.

VFA-204 "River Rattlers" ? VFA-204 - Wikipedia
Maybe dumping off their old Hornets at Oceana?

In April 2022, plans emerged that VFA-204 will be redesignated Fighter Squadron Composite 204 (VFC-204) in October 2022 and that the squadron is slated to transition to the F-5N/F Tiger II, with the required aircraft being transferred from VFC-13, another Navy adversary squadron. The NAS Fallon, Nevada based VFC-13 will in turn receive recently retired F-16 Fighting Falcons from the US Air Force.

The pic of VFC-204 F-5N looks like the Mig-28 from old movie Topgun :)
