GRIM 99 on the move behind AF1 and SAM 46 at 11:10 pm EST. I don't think GRIM will land in Germany or Egypt this time, we'll see...
Currently over France at 06:30 local --

SAM 46 took the fuel stop in Ramstein, AF1 didn't need it.

AF1 is on the ground in Sharm el-Sheikh, SAM 46 is about to land there at 9:30 am EST.

As is customary, GRIM 99, AF1 and SAM 46 turned off their civilian transponder modes over the Mediterranean in NATO member airspace for the last leg into the Middle East.

And, thanks to Hbright, we know that C-32A 09-0015 is lurking out there somewhere as well...

Yep, while GRIM 99 was on the ramp at Andrews last night I posted:

It appears that E-4B 74-0787 GRIM 99 will shadow AF1 eastbound, do several refuelings and continue airborne to Singapore's Paya Lebar Air Base as AF1 finally makes it to Phnom Penh, Cambodia.

It appears that GRIM 99 has gone operational (Due Regard, MARSA) again over the Arabian Sea off Oman at FL325. I suspect that it is descending for another inflight refueling on the way to Paya Lebar.

I find it odd that 09-0016 needed to refuel in Ramstein, Sharm (with AF1), and Al Udeid in order to make it all the way to Cambodia. 82-8000 only needed gas in Egypt.

Also, it's got to be one of the longest NAOC flights. Going on 20 hours and still not to it's final destination. At least two AARs.

BLUE83 descending into Pease, 16:40 EST --
Rgr BM both BLUE-82,83 did rtb US fairly quick. That F-35 delivery flight had me puzzled as clearly saw
BLUE-82,83 separate into two groups over Maine/Nova Scotia.First question why the two tankers for 3 F-35's? as Bill in Kentucky heard them out
his way as BLUE-81 flight of 4. Tankers always include themselves to ATC when dragging chicks.
Seems they picked up a F-15E from depot maint up North going back to LN along with the 3 F-35's so that is why two groups.
RETRO-31 was the lone F-15E and RETRO-32,33,34 were the new F-35's according to Euro post.
Lockheed and USAF say a backlog of F-35 deliveries awaiting down Texas so more to come soon. They just seem to have a tough
time getting tankers coordinated for these delivery flights but had good luck this week with two delivery flights.

I'm thinking that GRIM 99 probably did at least one refueling over the Atlantic, another west of Crete and a third over the Arabian Sea. Looks to me like they did indeed fly KADW-WSAP non-stop as I had guessed.

I've flown into Singapore many times, great town! But, I've only gone into Paya Lebar once, years ago, to put a DC-8 into heavy maintenance at Singapore Airlines' engineering subsidiary.

Now, has anybody seen 09-0015? ;)

These F-35I deliveries to Israel had me thinking of a clip I recorded last year on one of the VHF flight test frequencies. I've been told that the language is Hebrew and the pilots are talking about the layover hotel and aircraft starter generators. Most of the legacy large planes use a pneumatic engine starter and a separate electrical generator. But, I'm told that some new aircraft, both airliners and fighters, use starter generators.

Anybody understand what these guys are talking about? Are they civilian or military? I didn't see El Al or any other likely suspects in the area at the time.

The Hebrew clip from May 2, 2021 on 123.475 is attached below.
