BOBBY73 KC46 17-46036 AE5E11 out of McConnell heading northeast, 19:17 EST --
Seems all the KC-135/KC-46 BOBBY tankers are going to EGUN Mildenhall and just off McGuire tonight
BOBBY-64 KC-10 #84-0189 and BOBBY-74 #85-0032 both going to Bangor tonight.
Assume for a Westbound Altrav? Correction BOBBY-71 KC-135 #58-0124 going Pease to ETAD Spangdahlem Germany.
Maybe some 480th FS F-16's there coming West say Thursday or Friday?
Maybe they want to try out there new NG radars in the States.
Spangdahlem F-16 jets are the first active-duty USAF Vipers to receive AN/APG-83 SABR AESA radars - The Aviation Geek Club

Possibly the AK F22 heading home Mark, same call sign set up as from when they came east & all 12 F22s have recently been back at Lask. Looks like LN F15s are releasing them, CE014 on the code which unfortunately is of little use in this instance in giving any clue.

Thanks! forgot about those Alaskan guys bouncing around over there.. Yeah will take 8 tankers to get them
home.Assume they will do non-stop semi Polar route but you never know.Been a long deployment.
They replaced the Vermont F-35's back in the Summer.
There was a RCH-117 C-17 #00-0171 off Iceland today and out of Germany a couple days ago enroute PAED Elmendorf.

U.S. F-22s forward deploy to 32nd Tactical Air Base, Łask, Poland >
U.S. Air Forces in Europe & Air Forces Africa
> Article Display

MDMONITOR and I have been having a conversation recently about ARTCC info and updates. I mentioned the FAA's AFF.TXT file which includes all ARTCC sites and freqs used at each. I asked him if he thought there might be interest here in a project that I've been doing for myself to calculate the distance from a fixed latitude/longitude locally to the RCAG transmit/receive site. For the local DC folks here, I chose the Washington Monument. I think calculating distance from the RCAG lat/long at least would give a heads-up to know if it's impossibly too far to hear a given RCAG freq so don't waste the memory space in the radio....MAYBE possible and therefore worth programming into the radio....or actually very likely to receive a freq that had been thought to be too far away. The FAA releases AFF.TXT on a 56-day interval, and the data I've used here is from the release for December 1, 2022.

The file is a tab-delimited text file so RR will accept it. Clicking on it should open it in Excel or another spreadsheet. If not, open Excel...click on the DATA tab on the top row then under "GET EXTERNAL DATA" click on FROM TEXT. The import process will open and should recognize the tab delimiting; if not, select tab delimiter and you should be ready to go.

I've included every RCAG for ZDC, ZOB, ZNY, ZBW, ZID, and ZTL that should include every freq within range of the local DC listeners as well as out-of-town folks like JETCRAFTER, RALEIGHGUY, WBAGLEY, etc.

I'd be interested in hearing if folks here think there is or is not any value in doing this. It takes a couple of hours using a word processor and a spreadsheet to manipulate the four different types of records that the FAA includes in the original file and massage them into what I hope is useful.

Very well done, JetWash! We certainly appreciate the time and effort that it takes to assemble the data.

Anyone listening to 139.7 near DC? Got a tip that Huntress and their assets are chasing a TOI. Looks like they’re operating north of DC by Gaithersburg MD.

I wonder if this has anything to do with what looks like a stop on KDCA arrivals ? At 1120-1130 inbound flights holding and getting vectors all over the place.

Not sure how well this adsb exchange replay link will work for everyone but if/when it does work, at 16:18 you see the mh-65 launch and run up the river and all the commercial traffic get diverted. TIS-B for fighter pops up over Rockville at 16:24.

ADS-B Exchange - track aircraft live

The link works great, thanks for sharing it. (y)

Coast Guard helo BLACKJACK ONE was joined by DC ANG F-16s BRAVE ONE and TWO for the intercept.

Here's an excerpt from the LiveATC 1600Z reel for Potomac Approach on 124.7. You can hear the controller, a supervisor and the instant disruption that ensues with an intercept at lunch rush hour. At about 2:35 into the clip the controller apologizes 'for all that is going on, it's crazy'.

Since the BLUE ANGELS preform at the Atlantic City Show I always have their frequencies in my group with the airport and I am pretty good with hearing them in the area. My question is how do you setup your scanner so you get the handoffs on the fly sort of speak

Blue Angels won't be problem this coming year around here as only in the area at end of May for Annapolis Grads and Pocono airshow.
You only need two freqs while show is going on. Solos and Diamond formation. You can toggle back and forth for best results.

Poseiden-1 P-8A #170017 headed for Jacksonville Fla.
