Perhaps off topic but I wanted to ask a question seeing there’s a forum full of knowledge here and I’m seeing a lot of aircraft going in abnormal directions. Any idea why they are doing this ? See the picture below. Thank you in advance

There are no LiveATC feeds that cover that approach sector (119.850, at the time it was split from final), and nothing on the final feed (124.700) that indicated anything abnormal.

As far as I can tell watching the ADSB-X playback there were other flights that did the same thing, eg DAL459. It seems when it gets really busy the controller has the option if needed to take the runway 01 traffic arriving from the south parallel to the west then overhead and through the approach to join a right downwind.

Also saw one intercept the final approach course high then peeled off for a left downwind as well as parallel and into a left downwind.

Reported this morning as flight of 4 Chiefs out for a spin around Spain.
Chief-11 or all went thru Med to offshore Egypt.
I'm sure they were joined by coalition fighters as well on this trip.

Looks like overnight during the game a couple KC-10's to Bangor from Travis.
