GRIM 29 (E-4B, 74-0787, 1st ACCS) departed Andrews shortly before 0900L/1300Z or about 40 minutes ahead of Air Force One yesterday morning. I should have included this ID yesterday when I mentioned SAM 91 and AF 1 departing ADW.
John, that CODY 01 was most probably C-130H, 85-0042, 357th AS Maxwell. He was logged the previous day on the west coast. This is sort of a WAG since they may have changed planes overnight. Second day in a row for a Maxwell hit from you.

CODY 01 is usually a C-130 of some flavor (last time it was a WC-130J from Keesler) and even a KC-135 occasionally (from GSB early April.)
Huub, thanks very much for the sound clips and the other information you provided.

Tony, he was difficult to understand. I got ASCOT 51
23 but can't quibble about your version either. It was a C-130/C3 with tail XV212 from the Lyneham Transport Wing and I thought he was going into McGuire rather than Dover. He just departed around 1000 from wherever he was and is again airborne.

Wonder why they're flying that ancient thing? Come to think of it, it only goes back to 1952 which is almost the same age as many of the KC-135s flying overhead.
