Strange beep

I have a 536HP and last couple of weeks I have been hearing an intermittent beep. Any ideas what it may be?

If you're using ProScan, is the Resume Scan/Search turned on?

Is close call enabled when you hear the beeping? What does the screen say when the scanner beeps? Too many unknowns to know for sure but for me personally, the key beep is the first thing I disable whenever I get a radio: Menu > Settings > Adjust Key Beep > Off

Did you somehow verify it's coming from the scanner itself and not from the channel you're monitoring?

If it occurs on the same frequency or talkgroup all of the time, check that you don't have an alert enabled on that frequency or talkgroup.

The 536 is base/mobile. Not powered by USB.

The only time time I know that the 536 beeps are with an error, that the SD card have a problem to store or retrive data or something similar.
The display says nothing at that exact moment, but perhaps you don't have eyes on it right then and only hear the beep?

Thanks guys. This is mounted in my car and when i hear beep i dont notice what freq it is on, etc. will try to observe a little more n let you know.

You CAN program an alert beep (per channel). I did that once to alert for a rarely used channel. It switched to frequent use when I was mobile... ANNOYING.
