I Have a Bearcat 996XT I Have not Heard a Call from the 6pct since Sunday Did They Finally Switch Over to The New System?

Been on new system for a few years on phase one side.

Was going to tell you to check your programming, as it was working yesterday, but today, no active control channel.

PD has been simulating on both systems with the eventual goal of moving everything to P25. If you don’t hear that talkgroup on the legacy system then they are permanently on P25 only.

No, It means that 1/2 your scanners were just freed up to monitor other things that aren't P25

They have been digital for at least 10 years. They only moved from Motorola Hybrid to P25 Pase 2

Just be aware, info on here indicates Suffolk Co PD will be fully Encrypted within a few years.

Suffolk County and Suffolk PD *already* employ encryption on several TGs. The "encryption" mentioned in the linked document is in reference to the fact that Suffolk's P25 system will employ LLA (Link Layer Authentication) to prevent illicit, rogue or cloned radios from affiliating to the system (not to encrypt everything).

That was not what I was referring to. As stated "Just be aware, info on here indicates Suffolk Co PD will be fully Encrypted within a few years." That info was stated on RR forums in the past. If you have any info that indicates SCPD has no current plans to Fully Encrypt, please let us know. I am well aware that SCPD uses E on certain Talk Groups.

Yeah, I don’t have a control channel either and it was working fine so they did they make any changes….. I have to update my parallel. It’s like 200 bucks or I have to set up a Bucan assistant so I can run my window software again. Is there a any scanner program for Mac that works with the Uniden BCD325 P2 please

I opened up all the precincts last Tuesday and haven't heard a peep on my Pro 651 so it's a given they have permanently moved over. Anyone have a BCD325p2 for sale cheap? haha... Guess that will be my next scanner... At least I got 10 years out of the 651.

I wasn't sure if this should be a separate thread, my apologies. I have been monitoring SCPD with a NAS apx900 for a few years now with zero issues. After last weeks system update, I am hearing a lot of other traffic from medcom, public works and other agencies along with the SCPD traffic. Is anyone else having the same issue? Any tips I can give my radio guy to resolve this? Thanks for any information.

I forgot to add that when it is receiving “other” traffic besides PD, the led lights up yellow/orange.

When you say you're hearing other traffic along with SCPD traffic, are you saying you're hearing them on SCPD talkgroups? Can you elaborate when you're hearing them and what talkgroups they're heard on? Was your radio recently reprogrammed?

I see you then say the LED lights up yellow/orange but I'm not sure what that would have to do with it. Has the LED indicator ever been that color in any other instance?

Correct. I am hearing other traffic coming over on all the scpd talkgroups. I still receive scpd but it is now mixed in with this other traffic from the 800 site. And it comes in on every talkgroup. For example, I have 2 radios. One is set on scpd 6pct and the other radio is set on Command. This “other” traffic will come in on both radios simultaneously regardless of what channels they are set to. No recent programming or changes, they have worked fine for years with zero issues. This all started last week after the Suffolk system updated. Regarding the yellow,orange led, it has never lit up for any reason ever. This also just started happening and it only comes on when this “other” traffic is being received.

The personality your using for the NAS is prob the default 800Mzh freq witch is the control channel for the system so your picking up some traffic over the channel.
