I heard SC Emergency Management on Pal 800 getting ready to bring up a portable repeater from downstate that will work with Bendix King radios for tomorrow.

Three Large Air Tankers inbound to TR Complex, from Chattanooga. The A/G 155.455 pretty informative earlier. Due to the other fires across the mountains, USFS Flight Following"National" 168.650 pretty active as well, and did hear a hail on "Guard" 168.625.

I am hearing Command Post on SC Fleettalk 10092. Not sure if any other Fleettalk groups are being used or not. I am in Edgefield County.

Old dc 10's, that is what we need. Souprising how agile they are at scooping water and pulling up quick.

SCMA 6 and 3 were heard on Tuesday, March 25.

Also, many conventional SC Forestry and Interop channels are in use. Attached is a copy of my BCT15X ProScan log:

It would be fun to know the frequency of this portable repeater.

I'm guessing that sometime early this week, after these fires had started over the weekend, that there was likely a Communications coordination meeting among all agencies involved. It seems that SC Forestry is the lead agency, with assistance from US Forest Service and other state agencies like the National Guard. Then the local agencies - County fire departments and law enforcement are also involved. I'm guessing that VHF is default band being used for the incident (given that's what SCFS and USFS uses), with patches being established to Fleettalk (UHF, used by Pickens Co agencies) and maybe to Palmetto 800 (used by Greenville Co agencies)? Maybe Palmetto 800 has now been mostly dropped if they have a portable repeater set up.

I would be very curious to know what the decisions for coordinating communications have been.

SCMA 3 and FleetTalk IO 12 are patched via Newberry Cnty 911

SCMA 6 now a Tactical for the Resources NET (Days) and a Night Shift Division Ops channel

Heard a comment on Guard that 125.270 is now an air Freq. over at least part of TR Complex.
Think, as is practice sometimes, that they omitted last digit: may be 125.275.

As it progresses into a more Complex Operation, look for more NIFC channels to be brought into play

We got plenty of rain late yesterday and today. If the wildfires got as much, then it should slow things down big time. I finally got the scanner programmed for the SC mutual aid talkgroups and put the SCFS Tac channels in a legacy WT that scans pretty fast.
