What towers are affiliated with the trauma communications center? Is it just the Jefferson Co simulcast or some of the other surrounding towers?

I am not 100 percent sure if tcc is one the system wide agencies. So unless there are in range of one the assigned tcc towers. I do know that they have push to talk radios. aka old southern lincs would not surprise me if they had first net now. i left the ems game a couple years before tcc was born. In the old ages the state had ems regions. There are only 3 level one adult trauma centers in alabama mobile, huntsville , and birmingham. its very unlikely your going to hear a ground agency transport a full trauma pt from mobile or huntsville to birmingham. i only listen to the jefferson county system so i dont know about other sites . i have heard out of the per say birmingham metro area on tcc tac channels . the one that comes to mind was lifeguard amb out of hartselle . maybe morgan can give us some insight on this .

In Tuscaloosa it's all done via telephone. It essentially involves a three-way call between EMS, TCC and the med control line for the receiving hospital. Many agencies around here use AIRS, but I don't ever monitor it because everything near me is encrypted.

yea on april 27th it was a huge cluster because the agencies did not use tcc. Which led to DCH being overloaded with victims. There was a big write up on it .https://www.al.com/spotnews/2011/11/alabama_tornadoes_trauma_phone.html

TCC is allowed statewide but you will only hear it if a radio on that TG is affiliated to a nearby site.

At some point after Jefferson Co joined AIRS, there was a request (whining and implications of world ending paradoxes and impending doom) from some EMS providers in Morgan Co to be able to talk directly with the TCC. After some talks and etc, the necessary changes were made and the TG was added to radios. No idea how often they use it.
