Anybody know if Peel has acquired any new toys? Been hearing some testing on the trunked network earlier today, might have been from backup radios??
Also heard a distinctive ringer on 21 Div a few times, almost like the PTT heard when the Orillia OPP units transmit on 1OPS37 (a little quicker though, kinda like when you press the chime on an FRS radio!). I don't know enough about the specific radios or tones to provide any more info, sorry! All I know is that they sound totally foreign, never observed these on the Peel trunk before today.
