I had a look at the website and FreeSCAN. There is a page that shows the RR logo were I have to put my username and password in, Yes I don't see it in FreeScan; I downloaded 2.06 from the ScanNow.org website; I wonder if the screen shot I am seeing is a application on this site...again I read through the help but nothing stands out saying "you need this application..." other than RR pointing to FreeScan which doesn't tell me a whole lot as ScanNow says look at our screen shots which doesn't tell me were to find the access window or application...

Andrew, under the File tab on FreeScan, highlight Import, then pick either Radio Reference Conventional, or Trunked. This is where you login and begin importing systems and frequencies into the software. Once you import all you want, SAVE the file:) I had a harder time with the DMA setup compared to the GRE/RS scanners I've had for years.

Thanks.. Now I am seeing that this (Toronto Pearson International Airport (YYZ) Scanner Frequencies and Radio Frequency Reference) data isn't anywhere in Peel or Ontario when I use import tool on FreeScan for RR. What a pain! :(

It's there. You linked to the conventional information for the airport, so to find that make sure you're selecting File - Import - RadioReference Conventional
Sign in with your account then select:
Country: Canada
State/province: Ontario
County: Peel
County Agency: Toronto Pearson International Airport

For the airport trunked information select File - Import - RadioReference Trunked
Then select Canada, Ontario, Peel and then under Available Systems select the Air Canada system.

I can't seem to find the software on this site; can you tell me were I can find it? The only thing places I found anything that had to do with software was in the forum but there was nothing that said FreeScan, and under the Wiki which only shows how-to install FreeScan for Windows.

Well, it's the top link in a google search on "Freescan", to start with. I assumed you had basic web skills. It's also mentioned with the url in another thread on the 346 I answered yesterday. Time to start working on your basic computer skills perhaps? But maybe I am being unkind since it did take me a couple of days to really understand how Freescan worked to the point where I could download groups with it. But you have to keep working at it for awhile, it isn't that hard, really. Persistence pays dividends.

But the url is ScanNow.org - The Home of FreeSCAN!

Confusion resolved.

I think Andrew would have been better off with Uniden's HomePatrol scanner.
The HP-1 certainly made database use and especially trunking system configuration much simpler for me.
