By Thorndale Fire Company April 26, 2010 On Monday April 26, 2010, at 10:48 on a rainy morning, Station 38 along with the Ambulance and Medics from Station 46 were dispatched to a Auto Accident with Entrapment in the area of 3952 Lincoln Highway between Bondsville Road and Wedgewood Road. Ambulance and Medic 46 responded at 10:49 and were given the report of a vehicle under a tow truck. On scene EMS units requested an air medical helicopter, but due to the poor weather conditions no air medical helicopters were available.
QRS Captain Aberts arrived on the scene confirming the report of one patient trapped in the vehicle and assumed "Lincoln Highway Command". "Lincoln Highway Command" requested a second rescue to the scene to assist with manpower. The patient was extricated at 11:02 and transported by ground to the Reading Hospital and Trauma Center.
Thorndale units cleared the scene at 11:11. Units: Rescue 38, Squad 38, Traffic 38, Assistant 38, 38-50 (Aberts) Mutual Aid: Ambulance 46-1, Ambulance 46-2, Medic 46-1, Rescue 45, and Chief 44
