Got a chance to use one of the training frequencies today for training in Shelton. Was very impressed with how clear it was. It'll take some getting used to the digital sound, but excited to start using it full-time!

I'll miss the hiss of the analog vhf, but I'm thinking fire will multicast for awhile. OFD was testing a lot Saturday on "REDCOM" tg

My understanding is they will still tone out on the VHF for a while for the two tone pagers. Eventually that will be decommissioned and notification will be done on the P25. I'm not as familiar with the fire side of the change over.

Since the cut over the new system was this morning, have anybody heard any PD on the system or still silence so far.

It's live, I'm on LawOpps 3 (old TAC2) and it has been very clear. I have heard traffic on LawOpps 1 (old TAC1) and briefly on LawOpps 4 (old TAC9) when I was switching around.

Are the site frequencies and control channels correct in the RR database? I uploaded from sentinel and am not getting any data control channel signals on the scanner to connect. Trying to tune in from Gig Harbor

G4 pager was loud and clear on "N County" site all the way south to Chehalis area, which is a decent simulcast countywide. It's going to be my primary channel knob other than Yelm. S County wasn't as strong around exit 88.

Are the frequencies in the database what you have plugged in?

it works now this what i did. turn on all service types that the radio will allow you to turn on. By default out of the box they are not all enabled. Sometimes things get mislabeled, another option is to go into settings and choose ignore NAC.

I wish I could get a definitive answer on this. Very minimal information coming through my agency. I don't think I'm the only one in the county who relies primarily on F-1 toneouts.

That's frustrating for sure! It is likely an agency thing as TCOMM / TCERN has released quite a bit of information, guidelines, and timelines to user agencies. I would keep asking, and maybe check in with fire dispatch and see if they have anything they can pass on to you etc. As I am on the LE side of things, I didn't pay too much notice to the fire stuff, but I do remember reading somewhere FD would still be on VHF for toning, but I also have heard dispatches go out on, what was the old F1 F2 and F3, can't remember what they are called now.

Fire tones and ops have switched over to 700 today. I'll see what I can make sense of. Fire OPS 3 appears to be the vhf fire 9
