Just heard a call dispatched for a fire that could have been either a residential fire or a brush fire according to what dispatch relayed to responding units as far as what the caller stated. Dispatch stated that this was a "Code Orange Caller" ...turned out to be a small brush fire, so does anyone know what a code Orange caller might be referring to?

Has anyone noticed the changes in Topeka FD dispatching the last few weeks? They have dropped the old system of repeating each dispatch message 3 times and have patched Topeka and Shawnee County fire together so there is basically a single fire/ems dispatch channel for the whole city/county.

Yes and I really like it with the way that I have my XTS 5000 set up.
I've also noticed that some calls are being monitored....at least that's what dispatch is telling responding co's ... I presume the monitored calls are ones that are/could be more serious...i.e a possible structure fire would be monitored where as a investigate smoke in the area call wouldn't be.
