We're starting to get repeticious here, people. Please check links and information already posted before adding further. The Norman and Tulsa NWS information as well as the KBrews site already have links posted. There is no need to keep repeating the same information.

Thank you,
Mark S.

OK-1st would be nice to have! I use WeatherTap, inexpensive while still useful.

Lots of great links on that site, thanks! I particularly like that he links back to RR for Oklahoma freqs!

I forgot, I use WeatherTap as well. Sometimes if I want a quick radar image I don't have to put a lot of thought into, I like the WeatherTap products, otherwise, I'd rather use the OK-FIRST system. It's pretty cool, and very in depth. I'd recommend it to anyone that is able to use it.

Since OKFirst is restricted access, there aren't going to be too many people that can access it. As I said, would be nice!

Another place with good radar including all the fancy stuff like VIL, Echo Tops, SRV, with looping radar is:

www.weather.cod.edu

Click on Analysis

It does not have any zooming capability like OK-FIRST but hey it's FREE.

N. Tx skywarn to NWS ?

I listen to the skywarn net on 146.940 during severe weather down here in North Texas.
I am aware that the net here in Wichita Falls uses a relay to communicate with the NWS in norman is it possible to hear these communications and what freq. would they be on?

North Texas Skywarn (Norman link)

When in your neck o' the woods, we listen to Grandfield OK or Cyril OK. (147.255 and 147.045 respectively). These are the links for the net controls to tak to OUN NWS. Losts of great info on here,

Thanks...getting my old RS ready for the season.

A little side note.... when Wichita Falls moved public safety communications out of the police HQ to the new building they failed to move the paging system that activates the outdoor emergency/tornado sirens.

Very informative thread, thanks.
Another question, after the May 1999 tornado,
other than the FD's and PD's, which agencies responded to
assist in rescue, damage assessment and repair, first aid, etc?
I imagine it was a huge task to coordinate all those people that day and the day after.
Was there a central command using common radio frequencies,
or were communications strained because not everyone is on the same radio frequencies?
