Toronto P25

Hello,

I have an interesting problem, I have a Radio shack Pro 197 scanner.. I recently bought a Uniden BCD325P2 scanner which picks up both P25 phase 1&2. I pick up some transmissions on my Uniden... but Not near as many as the radio shack.. but even the radio shack i seem to be missing half the Toronto Fire transmissions.

Also can anyone pick up Durham Fire? I so far have only heard one Station Alert message go out.

i own a GRE PSR 600,which is basically the same as the Pro 197,and i can receive Toronto fire from my work in north Whitby.its usually the east and north tac channels.nothing from the south or west tac channels.as far as Durham fire,you wont receive anything on your 197 as Durham is phase 2.you should be able to pick up Durham on your 325 though.the only fire you will hear is dispatch only,as the tac channels are encrypted.

Thanks! any idea if York and Peel are encrypted as well?

im still having some difficulty with Toronto, but i keep making adjustments with the settings and theres slight improvement each time. I find it weird i received them perfectly fine with the Motorola system but not P25.

York and Peel police are encrypted.York fire is dispatch only,tac is encrypted.Peel fire is in the clear.the reason you could hear the Motorola system was because it was analogue and everything was in the clear.if you want more info on these systems,check the database.
