Just heard a broadcast on 100010 announcing an inspection by foot from King to Union. Likey an all call.

Is it possible they’re talking to train operators individually like they do with the buses?

I have heard *some* calls that appeared to be to individual trains, but I have no idea if it was a line call or individual train.

On the old system all calls appeared the same on the scanner, whether they were an individual call, a line call, or even a "west" or "east" call.

Just heard Wayside radio techs on 102701 doing upgrades to trains on YUS Line 1. They had them test a “PA” call to the train. Test came up on 100136.
They just did a ‘run’ call test to the ‘36’ run and it came up on 100136.

Also hearing traffic on 100002 that sounds like train yard type discussions.
They just did a Line PA announcement test for YUS run 36 and it came up on 100019. 100002 confirmed as Wilson Yard

So it’s looking like individual trains are being assigned a GSSI # based on their run number. Last two digits are the run number, third digit the line. YUS run 36 = 100136

Now confirming YUS Line 1 ‘Line Calls’ are on 100010.

Line 1 Run Number GSSI’s = 1001**

Was monitoring Wilson 423.3625, tried switching to Finch as transmissions were active, nothing there except tech GSSI 102701

Was monitoring as the rush hour wound down, heard lots of activity on 100002 of trains returning to the yard. Talk of turning on the train wash. Shuttling trains between tracks. Assigning tracks to returning trains.

It was a great opportunity to hear techs cycling through tests with TTC control so we could identify some of the functionality. Tech cycled through calling in via their colour coded RTT system. (Green, Yellow, Red) All responses went back to the train’s run GSSI. In this case 100136.

They did talk about a spot north of York Mills where several trains had lost signal and “froze.” Tech identified low RF in the area as they passed through but said his train did not go offline.

Tech asked control to test the fallback system but control radio tech said he didn’t want to do that because it would force all the other trains into fallback.

Yeah, I can only pick up Finch unfortunately. I have a machine set up at work which is near Greenwood Yard and pick up great signal there. Until they switch Line 2 to this, I've only heard the regular stuff on that freq.

I think I just heard a Line 4 (Sheppard Line) Line call on 100040. I think that makes sense since 100010 is Line 1, and 100040 is Line 4.

Also noticing that the 60002 GSSI is active on Red Alarms for portables only. Have heard bus and train red alarms (all false) show up in different GSSI allocations.

I actually just heard a Red Alarm (in error) from a Wilson division bus. Maybe its one of those old Orions that still don't have VISION and have portable TETRAs.

Wow, that Malvern antenna is really bad. A brief, maybe 15 minute wet snow event, nothing stuck on the ground, barely a trace on the roofs of cars, and the signal drops by 20db and is spewing decoding errors big time.

Rain doesn't affect it. Just snow.

From Malvern, these are the system auto-populated LCN the tg are manual input from where I could find them, they may not be accurate. There are a few more LCN than the last time. I have input "Unknown"... awaiting any further input from anyone. Thank you. "true" is just input from the system confirming activity on The LCN.

Saw that we had a duplicate of Radio Tech and Subway Shuttle and made the correction.

Then I looked over the Groups list I have without ID:

• 100141
• 100136
• 101007
• 101148

Throwing these out there if anyone has any ideas.

I havent been logging for a while, but today i turned it on and saw a new group 100020, which is Line2 Call for Bloor Danforth Subway.

I guess they are getting tetra radios now too?

They must be, I just heard Run 256 on Line 2, TG 100256, and Run 257 TG 100257, as well as a Line 2 PA call 100029.

This is on Birchmount tower, have not heard anything from Line 2 on Malvern or Finch.

I've logged quite a bit of Line 2 trains over the past few days. It's whatever happens to pass on the open cut from Victoria Park to Warden.

I guess it's fair to say that 1002xx is for all the Line 2 run numbers.
