Just wondering if anybody would know how to transfer the banks or frequencies listing from the Whistler TRX 1 program to the Whistler TRX 2 Scanlist control program? Appreciate any comments back and thanks.

I did something similar for another RR member in my area.

I saved the configuration in the EZ-Scan version from my TRX-1, then emailed it to him. He was able to use the TRX-2's EZ-Scan to open it in that software, From that point, send it to the scanner, as well as save the current (or modified) version to the TRX-2s archive.

What are the actual steps in transfering the data to the second program?

Just save your current configuration using the TRX-1's version of EZ-Scan. By default, if I recall correctly, EZ-Scan will save the file(s) to your Documents folder. Instead, I created a specific TRX-1 folder.

The files starting with CDAT are various V-Scanner folders, hence the VSxxx in the files name, followed by the date it was saved.

If you copied the files from where ever your TRX-1 files are parked, into a newly created TRX-2 folder, then, in the TRX-2's EZ-Scan, you can simply use the 'Open V-Scanner folder to open it into the TRX-2s software.

That's in the drop-down File menu.

Not sure V-Folder is the best option unless you want to keep what is in TRX-2. My suggestion is go to the FILE tab at the top on the TRX-1 and save the configuration to "SAVE CURRENT CONFIGURATION TO ARCHIVE", give it the name you want and save it in a location you'll find it (like Desktop)...

Then in the TRX-2 EZ-Scan go to the file tab and select "RESTORE CURRENT CONFIGURATION TO ARCHIVE" and load the file you saved in step one above.

Double check any settings for the TRX-2 that you've changed, as the import from the TRX-1 may have reset them.

When you use the 'Save Current Configuration to Archive' for the TRX-1, it saves it under the open V-Scanner file name.

The 'restore' o[tion should load the saved file, even though it has a V=scanner based name. (I don't have the TRX-2, but in working with someone in my area, who had the TRX-2, I was able to send him files from my TRX-1, and he could open them in the TRX-2's version of EZ-Scan.)

The archive allows you to choose the name and save where you want it, allows you to share it between scanners, and loads directly into the EZ Scan without going through a V-folder. That is the best way, in my opinion, I have WS1098, WS-1080, and TRX-1 scanners and use this method on a regular basis.
