OK, probably the wrong place for it but here goes.
Watching the last episode of NCIS, the victim was found with a "cell scanner", that looks just like a bc346/396. Apparently, when this series of scanners are painted military green the become capable of transmit on (in this case) 911.000mhz. Without going into it too much the victim mistook the "cell scanner" for a cell phone and tried to dial 911, he was then heard over a nearby baby monitor.
anyway, i got a good laugh out of it. at least the focus on the "cell scanner" was only for a few minutes.
