I have been picking up this frequency for a few days now. 460.3625 with a tone of 173.8. It is dispatching units from Fowler, Vienna, Hartford and Brookfield. Just decided to start listening again today and I have heard these 4 in the past 15 minutes or so. Has anyone else found this frequency? It isn't posted for Trumbull at all. I didn't even find it listed for Trumbull Co. within the FCC database. However it is listed for Sharon PD coming from a tower in Brookfield.

So has anyone from the area input this frequency into your scanner to see if I am correct about what I have been hearing? How bout ya Admin man? How about someone checking it out and then it could be submitted to the RR page. To me it sounds like the Sharon PD may use it to listen to what is going on over on the Ohio side. Could also be a simulcast set up for the area. I don't know, need some help here. It won't take long for ya to hear a transmission as it is a busy channel. Seems like the Brookfield PD also with the County East channel combined so far. I haven't heard Hubbard yet.

Trumbull Co. law enforcement agencies pretty much all use VHF hi frequencies. Even Warren PD still cross transmits on their old 151.220 frequency while using their 800 trunked system. Having worked for a PD that bordered PA, trying to communicate with their departments using UHF was a nightmare as we had to talk through our dispatchers.

It is possible that Sharon and Brookfield can use a patch so they can communicate directly or may be that they use scanners in addition to their transmitters to operate in a cross band type communication like many departments did years ago that were even on the same system.

This sounds logical to me. I can see this holding water! I will keep on listening and see if I can hear any kind of transmission between agencies. Just thought that someone over there in Ohio would like to have this frequency.

Admin-man doesn't live in Trumbull Co. A better idea would be for Trumbull Co OH / Mercer Co PA users to perhaps plug this frequency in, monitor it a while, and pin down what is going on. This frequency has been submitted, but it hasn't been added because a more concrete description of usage needs to be given. Of course, if the local listeners can come to a concensus as to who they are hearing, why/how they are hearing them, what the purpose of this frequency is, please do feel free to submit it. We certainly want to include it, but we need listeners to pin down what is going on. Right now it sounds like only wv_mountaineer is listening. Surely there must be others in Trumbull/Mercer area that are listening to it.

It's an analog conventional UHF frequency. Nearly every synthesized scanner in use by people today could be used to pick up the traffic. All it takes is for some people to actually program it into their scanners and listen.

As it stands now, if I were to add it, it'd have a description like "you might hear Fowler, Brookfield, Vienna and Hartford on here, or you might not". Pin it down and it'll get added quickly.

If you do an FCC search you will see this is licensed to Sharon PD with a tower in Brookfield.

Numerous people have already done that. The kicker is that the traffic routinely heard on it is Trumbull co Ohio traffic. Which leads everyone to wonder what the frequency pair's actual intended use is.

Brookfield Twp. Pd. "Update"

I just put two scanners side by side. I don't know why I didn't do this before. Anyways, I am hearing the simulcast of 158.8125, tone 192.8 on the frequency in question 460.3625, tone 173.8.

Kind of funny, but Sharon Pa. also has the frequency 158.8125 at their disposal with the call letters of KGB245. This is the same call letters that 460.3625 belongs to! I have not heard Sharon using either one of these frequencies in the past 3 years of listening in this area.
