Trunk Recorder or Darkice - which is more processor intensive?

I have some pi 4's running calls nodes with 1 SDR, and 2 PC's doing feed duty... I am wanting to introduce a pi5. And also wanting to eliminate a PC.
Would you:
-convert one of the feeds to pi5 or
-covert one of the calls nodes to pi5 and use the pi4 for feed?

Basically, I'm just curious what is more processor intensive... Trunk Recorder or Darkice?

Darkice uses almost no resources. Trunk recorder will use the majority of your computer resources. Trunk recorder 5.0 has been configured to use much less system processing power compared to previous versions but still requires more than Darkice. I am currently using both Darkice and Trunk Recorder on the same RPi 5.

I agree, darkice uses little CPU, TR on the other end of the scale. Can easily run multiple darkice feeds off one pi.

a couple words word of caution regarding the pi5:

1. 64 bit processor. Are your programs 64 bit?

2 pulseaudio has been replaced with pipewire. Don’t expect audio to perform the same on the pi5 as on the pi4. If you are using the BCFY appliance image, expect lots of challenges In making the transition From pi4 to pi5.
