Interesting. Maybe CLE is going to remain on 159.090 and 155.505 and not go to the splinter frequencies. Here in Houston I have not heard any of these being used in digital - yet. 155.505 has been active the last several weeks but in analog. They did say "switch to digital" and I heard them on Mobile A (155.460, nac 162).

So the Decatur repeater is using a CLE repeater now? That's odd.

That's what I thought too. I wonder if they just kept it on a different freq so that it wouldn't interfere as much with the Denton Repeater (only like 25 miles away) on 159.2175 (dispatched by Sherman while Decatur is dispatched by Wichita Falls KKE241).

Who knows.

I know!

We have been switched to that frequency due to several interference problems to us and ones we were causing to other agencies that were digital on the 156.2100 frequency. That will be the Decatur frequency from now on. We are going digital next week completely for Wichita Falls and Throckmorton areas.

This will complete our digital conversion in our area.

Scooter, any further talk of raising the height of the Decatur repeater antenna?

Yes, the main thing this coming week is to get Throckmorton, and Wichita Falls converted to digital. We are still looking at adding 30 to 50 feet to the Decatur tower. It is only 35 feet right now. Hopefully later this summer or early fall we might be able to get it raised up for better signal coverage. Just changing the frequency from 156.210 to the 159.0975 has made some difference in our intereference problems.

WELL speaking about dps and apco-25 IAM OVER HERE IN WAY SOUTH TEXAS ""THE VALLEY"" AND DPS FROM HERE AND ALL ALONG THE US. MEX BORDER ARE ALL NOW AND HEVE BEEN USEING APCO-25 FOR OVER A YEAR NOW AND THEY STATRED USEING IT FOR SECURITY REASONS WAS THE MAIN FACTOR SECOND THE OLD SIMPLEX SYSTEM LEFT ALOT OF STATE TROOPERS UNINFORMED..SO THEY USED THE STATION AS A REPATER FOR A WHILE BUT FOUND OUT ALOT OF PLL WERE TUNNING IN TO THERE COM.ESPECIALLY DRUG TRAFFICERS AND SO ON..
I'm way down here, too, but I can't get DPS on the freqs I have in the scanner. When they transmit, all I get is a scratchy sound. I need the Harlingen freqs. BTW, I'm using an XLT780

The reason all you hear is a scratchy sound is the 780 XLT is NOT a digital scanner. You will need one of the newer models to hear agencies like DPS who have migrated to P-25 digital.

The frequencies you are requesting are in the "Texas" RR database under "Department of Public Safety".

I think Wichita Falls and Trockmorton are digital now but I can't really confirm it. I'm hearing the WF dispatcher on 159.21 but not sure where it is coming from or if they changed frequencies on the Decatur repeater again. I don't appear to be getting 159.0975 any more. Scooter can you give us an update?

ok conditions are better now and I can hear all 3 of the Wichita Falls sites. Windthorst is on A2 (155.4675) Throckmorton is on 159.210 (RPT 15A according to the map) and Decatur has not changed, it is still on 159.0975. All P25 digital.

Tom.
Have you heard any digital testing yet out of Mineral Wells? I"ll be out that way, headed for Strawn, either this weekend, or next, if the 'flood' lets up. I'm taking my 396 (& 330) regardless. Thinking about dragging the 996 along & leaving it in the truck on search/store.

Tom,
We are digital as of 2 PM Tuesday 7-10-2007. Those are the correct frequencies you have posted.

Take care

Region 6 is not ready to make the switch to digital. We still have some equipment issues and some interference issues we are trying to resolve. We are the last digital conversion until these two issues get resolve.

The MW base is still analog, but a couple times a few weeks ago I heard some mobiles talking to eachother (simplex) in digital.

I heard a female dispatcher tell someone on air that they were switching w'falls to digital this week. Does any else know about that? I hear them quite clearly now on analog up here in W. Oklahoma.

Any digital DPS coming to the panhandle between Amarillo and the OK state border soon?

Thanks folks!

I am decoding the Dallas DPS base transmitter on BASE B2 using NAC 128 rather than NAC 156 as shown on the channel plan.

Anyone else noticing this on other BASE B2 transmitters? Are the mobiles using 156 or 128?

I have found the following to be the case;
Base A1, NAC 114
Base A2, NAC 118
Base B1, NAC 123
Base B2, NAC 128
