Interesting, thanks for the update Wayne. Those same NACs also used on the mobile inputs? I updated the BASE channels in the database - do you know of any changes needed for the repeater NACs?

From what I have observed, yes they are the same.

Question: when programing VHF p-25 does the scanner pick up the p-25 on its own.
I have a uniden-bc-296D

Yes, as long as you do not program in a PL or DPL.

Changes for Sulpher Springs DPS?

Does anyone have any specific information regarding Sulphur Springs DPS? From casual listening, 159.2175 is now the P-25 repeater output for Hunt County/Greenville, 155.4675 is the P-25 repeater output for Hopkins County/Sulphur Springs, and 159.210 is the P-25 repeater output for Lamar County/Paris. I have not spent a lot of time on searching out other changes but it would appear, at least in our area, that DPS has moved from the full duplex channel pairs (previously used in Sulphur Springs proper) to repeaters. 159.2175 and 155.4675 may be linked, but I am not sure yet?

If they are using a repeater in Sulphur Springs, then that is by choice. It doesn't require any additional programming for the field units, only switching between duplex and repeater mode from the dispatch center. The primary and repeaters are not linked per say, but when a dispatcher gets a unit on CH 15B calling in a plate, he/she will multi-select both primary and 15B and talk across both channels, letting officers operating on A2 know that dispatch is busy with another customer. Sometimes they forget to turn off multi-select. It happens alot here with Conroe on the 19B Huntsville Repeater. No Walker County units will have traffic, but Conroe is steady answering Montgomery County units.
Now that is not to say that the two channels can't be patched, which would mean one unit's voice would come across both repeaters simultaneously. It just isn't commonplace for DPS.

Next to a scanner...
Last I was down there (a few weeks ago), Childress, Mineral Wells, Waco, Lubbock and Amarillo (and maybe Lampasas) were analog still. As Stephen said, WF has been P25 for a while.

I wish I'd have waited a little longer, and got the Pro-96 before popping for this Pro-433. All I could think was "Get something to trunk the Abilene "fahr house".:D With all this digital stuff, I could've gotten back the DPS and some counties like Shackelford and Nolan, who are pretty much full time digital, with the Pro-96. Now, we're hearing that Taylor Co. S.O. is crying for a new digital system due to their old ones being out of warranty and parts can't be gotten for them.

Two questions: If I eventually fork over for a Pro-96, will they copy both digital and analog at the same time, or just one at a time, according to how it is set? Are they hard to set up?

Had it not been for a guy named Dick on this forum, I would have NEVER figured out how to set up this 433 to trunk. The Shack manuals are 1st class jokes, and the store clerks are moreso.

Thanks-

Due to equipment issues and some interference issues, the digital switch over for the remainder of the DPS has been put on hold until these issues can be resolved. I do not have a date when we will continue the switch over.

I am sure Taylor County just wants access to the new digital provoice system that Abilene Police use so they can talk. I have a uniden 396 but I am willing to bet the Pro-96 will decode the DPS when needed without you doing anything.

I heard a lot of what sounded like digital traffic on the 159.210 channel up here in Oklahoma yesterday. I didn't have my 996t with me, just the Kenwood 2 mtr. that I have in my office. I guess that's from W'falls.
