Yaesu: tx problem ftm 350

i recently programed this radio to use again i have 2mtr repeaters on left and 70 cm on right
70 cm works fine 2mtr reports tx frequency error any ideas as to what is wrong

Sounds like you have the shift set wrong on the 2 meter repeaters.
What frequencies (receive) are wrong?

Good catch, actually where are you located and what is the whole exact model number of the radio? What 2 meter frequencies are working?

There are several menu items that affect repeater settings. Make sure you have checked all of them. The most important would be Item 2 in the System Group: ARS or Automatic Repeater Shift. This should be ON, allowing the radio's firmware to set the repeater shift , both direction and amount. Also look at Items 3 and 4 in the TX/RX Group, Repeater Shift Direction and Repeater Shift Frequency. Direction should be set to the default OFF and Frequency will depend on the operating band the side of the radio is set to.

Some regional radio versions only allow 144-146 MHz TX frequencies. I think Japanese versions are like this. Might be others as well.

Maybe the 600 should be .600. I sometimes depending on data field entry requirements get the number right and the decimal place wrong. That started a long time ago with a slide rule, if you are familiar.

Maybe the 600 should be .600. I sometimes depending on data field entry requirements get the number right and the decimal place wrong. That started a long time ago with a slide rule, if you are familiar.

What would this have to do with the frequency he asked about? 146.975 -.600 is 146.375 assuming he has the shift set correctly. If he has it wrong and at 6Meg, that still wouldn't land the radio on 144.005 or 143.975. I am just trying to for my own information figure out why you asked this question.

While I don't likely have the same version of the 350 he does, mine will transmit on 144.005 and the one not modded will transmit there. It will not transmit on 143.995. I have two, one was mars modded when I got it and the other one not so I checked the non modded one.

As was mentioned earlier in this thread, amateur radios configured for some other countries are limited to 144-146 MHz, in order to comply with the laws in those countries. Such radios will not TX at 146.975, as that frequency is out of their range. I suggested a quick way to test the theory.
BTW, the second frequency was a typo. It should read 145.995, not 143.995.

Okay thanks. Ya I have no idea which exact model radio he bought. ( ie for which country). Honestly the typo was what made me ask the question. I make typos all the time so I totally understand. Honestly I think he should see if it transmits in the 146 + area on simplex then chase down the repeater stuff.
