I had the same thing one time, it was a memory glitch. Had to completely factory reset it to get it working again.

Can you look at the sticker on the radio or on the original box (if you still have it) and determine the full model number. Not just FTM-350, but everything that follows? It would also help to know where it was purchased from.

Okay thanks. Ya I have no idea which exact model radio he bought. ( ie for which country). Honestly the typo was what made me ask the question. I make typos all the time so I totally understand. Honestly I think he should see if it transmits in the 146 + area on simplex then chase down the repeater stuff.
have done all that transmits fine simplex

What would this have to do with the frequency he asked about? 146.975 -.600 is 146.375 assuming he has the shift set correctly. If he has it wrong and at 6Meg, that still wouldn't land the radio on 144.005 or 143.975. I am just trying to for my own information figure out why you asked this question.

While I don't likely have the same version of the 350 he does, mine will transmit on 144.005 and the one not modded will transmit there. It will not transmit on 143.995. I have two, one was mars modded when I got it and the other one not so I checked the non modded one.
i have the offset correct at .600

I'll be honest with the information you have provided I have no clue. The only reason it should show that is if it's out of band for your region. If you put 146.375 SIMPLEX in the radio and will it transmit? Need You try it on that exact frequency and report back. Maybe even send a pic of the front of the radio so we few see it if possible.

I think I would contact the seller of the radio. I am not from your country but, a quick check shows you get 144-148 on 2 meters and assuming you got a radio for your region (country) it should certainly transmit there.

Based on your recent posts, it seems very likely that your radio was not intended to be sold in your region. Did the radio ever work properly on frequencies above 146 MHz?
If you can provide the FULL model number of the radio (there are usually a few extra characters at the end), it might reveal where it was intended to be sold.

your post may have helped tested the radio and i think somehow it has changed to a 144 to 146 now i need to find out how to change it back to a 144 to 148 radio

radio is a 350R

There's different market versions of these radios that will have different transmit ranges. Not all countries have identical amateur radio bands, and you'll often find radios that are not full compatible with the amateur radio bands in your specific country.

Hard to find exact details, but there ARE different market versions of this radio and some will only transmit on the 2 meter band from 144-146MHz.
Trying to transmit will (and should) cause an error.

Sounds like it's doing exactly what it is supposed to do.

Have you ever updated the firmware in this radio? A different firmware, not intended for that particular radio, could limit the TX range.
From my experience, I doubt this is the problem. I once accidentally tried to update the firmware in one of my US market Yaesu radios with the European version firmware. It flat wouldn't let me. I kept getting errors until I realized my mistake and used the correct version.

It seems the OP is unwilling to respond to our requests for a picture of the radio's label, but keeps insisting this is a US market radio.

yep, unless he actually listens to what people are asking him, there isn't much we can do, except piss into the wind with BS ideas.
Exactly I asked him early on for the exact entire model number or even a photo, and nada. I like to help people but they need to help me help them as with most of us here.
