I was really looking forward to this for when I was commuting to medic school and traveling through several systems... But now I'm stuck at home and only get one system anyway

Is anyone else having issues with checking these boxes to select TGID? It sometimes takes four or five clicks to get the check mark. I was also wondering if we could have a select all button?

Other wise, I really don't have much in the way of problems with the PPS at this time. I'm loving the scan feature!

Multi-site Multi System up and running well today. TG label and TG UID labels looks good too. Wildcard TG in for good measure. In my case two different systems with a total of 103 TG’s in the two systems. Audio clean. Site stay soft key and TG hold makes this feature a breeze. I see the soft key “blok” for nuisance delete is renamed in this mode in second layer of soft keys “REMV”. Thanks earlier posts for tips, easy as 123 nice touch Unication.

I'm trying, doesn't seem it wants to let me. I have forgotten about everything I know as far as PCs go, I switched to Mac years ago and had to buy a cheap laptop to program the G5 when I first bought it. There doesn't seem to be an exe file when I unzip the file.

Did you extract those files seen in your screenshot to a folder? It looks like they are being viewed in the zip file still as the exe file is not showing its icon.

So will the new FW allow the "pager" to monitor P25 and DMR? Or is this for scanning more than one P25 system?

Also, will it record patched TG's? (When the "65XXX" Harris TG's are being sent out)

Trunking Hold

• Member List Setting (D4), I entered five “Dispatch” (Dispatch Console) UIDs for one system.
  • While in “Trunking TG-Scan,” the “Dispatch” call alias displays correctly. All car UIDs display correctly except as noted below in "Radio IDs."
  • After selecting “Hold,” the screen does not display the held talk group until a radio transmission is received.
  • After pressing “Hold” when a patrol car is transmitting, the “Dispatch” call alias no longer displays. The display reverts to the dispatch console’s UID. At times, when the dispatcher is transmitting, the UID displayed on the pager is the car’s UID, and when the car transmits, the UID displayed belongs to the dispatcher. Note: This was also verified using Unitrunker to monitor the UIDs.
  • When pressing “Hold” while the “Dispatch” call alias is being displayed, all UIDs display as “Dispatch.”
  • Please consider adding a method to unblock talk groups without changing knob positions. I believe this clears all blocks, and the user may have only wanted to remove one block.

Radio IDs

• When transmissions switch back and forth from two or more units (either car to car or car to dispatch), the display may only show the UID from the first transmission. For example, if the dispatcher calls two cars and they answer soon after the initial call, both transmissions may show the UID of the dispatcher.

I would like to request Unication to consider some PPS enhancements.

Regarding D4 – Group ID Setting:

• Currently, the only descriptive field in PPS is the “Group Alias” that is also displayed on the pager screen when the pager lands on a talk group. Initially, a user may enter into PPS five talk groups for an agency, and later, may need to add one or more additional talk groups for the same agency. The first five could be numbered 10 – 15, and the next entries could be way down the list such as 180 – 184. I would like to see an additional field such as a “Group” or “Agency” field (not sent to the pager during programming, but only maintained in PPS for user convenience) that is capable of being sorted. This way, the user could click somewhere on a button or the column heading for “Group” or “Agency” and the list would then sort so the user could easily see the talk groups that have been entered for an agency or system. For example, after sorting, the user would see the talk groups sorted as OSP District 1, OSP District 2, OSP District 3, and so on. Currently, selecting the group heading highlights the Parameter Description for the selected column heading. Possibly add a sort icon to the column heading or add a sorting button at the top in between the “Custom tone Setting” and “Import” buttons.
• I would also like to see a “Description” column where the user could enter talk group notes with up to 75 characters including spaces.
• Possibly change “Alert Tone” default to “None” unless there is a need to keep it as “Default Tone” for public safety users.
• Add code to the talk group entry windows to allow the “OK” button to trigger when pressing the Enter key on the keyboard.

Regarding D2 – Conventional Frequency Setting

• Add sorting capability for the “Frequency Alias” column.

Regarding D2 – P25 Trunking System Setting

• Add sorting capability for the “System Alias” column.

Trunking Free Scan – Pager TG List​

o As others have mentioned, RFSS/Site should have an option to display the alpha tag. Possibly have the choice of display available in D7 > Pager Configuration > General Setting.
o Regularly, P25T is being displayed instead of UID.
o Screen stays lit during scanning between sites. Once site hold “SHod” is selected, the screen will time out and go blank according to the setting at D7 > Screen Timeout Setting > Default Timeout.
o During Site Hold, screen information is partially hidden as shown in the below photo.
o Radio IDs - When transmissions switch back and forth from two or more units (either car to car or car to dispatch), the display may only show the UID from the first transmission. For example, if the dispatcher calls two cars and they answer soon after the initial call, both transmissions may show the UID of the dispatcher.
o When trying to scan a different Pager TG List by pressing the white diamond to move to the PTGL option, the screen returns to the previous screen possibly before the user has time to select the PTGL option. The user has to make the selection very fast and may have to try several times before the PTGL screen is activated. It appears that once the pager scans to the next system, the screen selection is reset to the previous screen options. The user can increase the time to make a selection by increasing the delay time to switch to the next system (D7 -> Trunking Free Scan -> Site Stay Delay Time for Multi-Scan); however, the soft key menu should remain and not change just because the pager has changed to the next system.
o No recordings are being made of received talk groups while in PTGL mode (whether scanning or hold).

I like the message record in PTGL mode, mine works on "hold" and sometimes on scan, really spotty though and it cuts of most of the message unless they are keyed up a while, only records after a second or two and sometimes the record button does nothing at all then it starts recording nothing at all with the counter running even though there is no transmission. Is there a setting for this? What would really be nice is be able to play messages from first to last instead of last to first and a way to scroll quickly through instead of one at a time.

I have been programming my own pager for about two years and created the whole profile for my FD and programmed 80 pagers, will learning the trunking free scan portion be fairly simple. For those of you beta testing was it easy to figure out how to get the pps to make the pager do what u want.

You should not have a problem. There are a few more tabs and check boxes, for the most part. I figured it out pretty easily. Now explaining to those 80 guys you program for may be the bigger challenge. .
