2) How can I turn off the squealing noise when un-holding a talkgroup?

I believe this may be the checkbox you want - make sure its unchecked for "Un-hold Alert". Apologies if you've already figured it out.

Thank you for the feedback on #1, I will have to play around and see if holding and unholding is easier or breaking down my programming, even more, to have them all non-priority with fewer talkgroups in each area.

I found #2 out with the help of another G5 owner, I didn't see the volume level for the notification tone. I turned the volume down and it is much more tolerable!

You can upgrade to firmware V1.31 and the accompanying PPS 3.16.24. If you already haven't done so, you should read the comments on the 1.4 beta. While Unication advises against downgrading from 1.4 to 1.31 or earlier, many have done this due to problems with the beta. Additionally, Unication's announcement of a pending scanner product pretty much says that the 1.4 beta will be orphaned at some point.

Still locked to serial number by the firmware updater software.

But there is a version of the updater software that will install v1.4 on any pager. It’s floating around the web.

Sorry I don't know how to answer this without breaking a forum rule. I think we can talk about software and say we have it, just can't give out links. In posts or PMs. I guess best I can say is there's some radio chats in Discord and members there have it.

I just purchased a new Windows 11 desktop. I was hoping I could download the PPS program and plug in my G4, transferring the programming to the new computer. However, I don't see a way to do that.
If that isn't possible, what folders do I need to copy from the old computer to the new one so I don't have to re-enter all my Profile information?

Just read the pager with the software on the new PC.

What he said, or I think you can EXPORT an XML or something from the old computer...that method is also used for CLONING G's, even ones with non matching model or bandsplits (G5)

I have question about the g5 pager. I am using the slience scan mode on the pager for two tones. Can you alert all three channels for the two tone or just the first channel that you select to go off. I know on the mintor 6 you can scan the two channel and it will go off. Can anyone help me out with this.

OK... figured out what I needed to do to copy the data from the G4 to PPS.

NOW.... facing another problem. I want to add another Knob Position - Highway Patrol (local post).
I previously added a local PD, so I followed the same steps when adding the OSP info.

Under the GROUP ID SETTINGS tab, I clicked on the [NEW] tab and added the new Alias Name. When I click on the [SAVE] tab on the bottom I get the following error.

All protocol is \"No Setting\"
Please check again

I did not get that error when I added the Local PD recently.

What does that error mean?????????
