Unication G-Series Voice Pager with Digital Trunked Scanner Feature

I just hope it doesn't turn out like Whistler, who were suppose to be coming out with a scanner rivaling Uniden's SDS 100 but it never happened eventually Whistler came out with a statement saying "the project has been canceled" but no other explanation was ever given. On the other hand the Unication pager is better than what anyone else has even without the upgrades.

What do you monitor in Orlando? We winter in Lake County but was advised that most of FL was encrypted.

That's not totally true. I monitor Orange and Seminole, in Orange Law enforcement is encrypted but everything else is in the clear in Seminole there is no encryption on the Seminole system. You mentioned Lake County it is encrypted I believe.

I'm with you--I'm keeping my Unication gear: I have two G-5s--one with the Beta software (VHF), one without the Beta software (UHF-C). Was going to sell the VHF version, but I love the Beta functionality so much, I don't want to lose it.

Correct. Considered many customers need this feature, our engineering team worked hard to make it also happen on the other firmware.
We will add Hold/Unhold to the V1.30 in the next firmware update.

So when will this be available and will it fix the Bluetooth issues? Ive owned my pager for over a year and cannot ever get it to pair with anything Bluetooth. Its been well over a year since Unication has released ANY kind of update...…. I tried signing up for the beta test several times and have gotten no response.

Hello guys, I'm Steve from Unication. Yes, the Trunking Free Scan feature of G-Series Voice Pager is going to be in the Beta Test stage.

We're looking for G-Series Voice Pager customers who are interested in participating in a one-month Beta Testing trial of the Trunking Free Scan feature!
Unication will provide selected participants with a beta version of the Trunking Free Scan Firmware for a one-month testing period.
The beta test firmware will be registered to your G-Series device serial number for use during this trial and will not support other serial numbers.

I will also release the Beta Firmware Field Test application on this thread soon and everyone can fill out the application to have the opportunity to be our Beta Tester!
If you're the selected participants, we will inform you via the email and send you the Beta firmware.

Our engineering team is working on the final verification on the Trunking Free Scan features and it will be completed in a few days.

Lake County is pretty much completely Encrypted (Fire and Law) as is Sumter next door

Just my thought, if anyone cares.those waiting to get the beta 1.40 beta 2 since we have no idea when why not try todays 1.30 release.
from what i saw the tg hold is better on 1.30 than our beta 1.40.
you will get tg remove also.
If you dont have to have multi system scan(needs more work) and only want tg hold and remove why not try 1.30 today then later 1.40 scan feature .
When I say better tg hold on 1.30 it appears you will see tg alpha tag for tg also can set a timer for how long the hold is.
Again just my thoughts i have 2 pagers and i rushed and installed 1.40 on both and now wished i didnt.
Now maybe we will get a surprise and get 1.40 real soon however they are not saying when .
Just my thoughts.

There have been many warnings posted about this already....

Do not attempt to install V1.30 if you have already installed any V1.40 build. Once you install V1.40, you cannot go back.

Right. The way I read your previous post was was 'if you're running V1.40 beta 1, and not really getting the benefit from "multi system scan", you might as well try V1.30 while you wait for V1.40 beta 2'. Unfortunately you can't do that.

Any news about future beta releases for 1.4 or when the full may be released, ive been using for a few months now and my biggest issue is freezing on a TG requiring a battery pull. As much as i waited for the system scan feature for my personal G5 even with 1 second system hang alot of traffic is missed which is just the nature of the beast now.

My guess is a while as this is probably not their top priority. That being said - these things are going to sell like even hotter cakes when they do perfect it. G5 + Scan FW = Better than SDS | IMO

absolutely they are amazing receivers, they work as well as the actual radios that are on the system. i prefer using two pagers parked on 2 different systems as opposed to using the 1.4 system scan, but its a great feature for someone with only one pager.

Another issue I’ve noticed besides locking on a TG requiring a battery pull is after about a day from my last battery pull I will lose audio, it will change from TG to TG like normal but no audio will pass through, I’ve checked all the options nothing is changed, last night it went into the cradle charger working fine, when I woke up it wasn’t passing audio, battery pull and back to normal.
Has anyone else had success going back to 1.3 I know they say not to but I’ve seen a few people here who have done it, and at this point I don’t use the multi trunk scan since I have two pagers. @Unication_Jordan @stevecch

I changed a G4 from 1.4 back to 1.3 with no issues. With that said do at your on risk.
