• To anyone looking to acquire commercial radio programming software:

Please do not make requests for copies of radio programming software which is sold (or was sold) by the manufacturer for any monetary value. All requests will be deleted and a forum infraction issued. Making a request such as this is attempting to engage in software piracy and this forum cannot be involved or associated with this activity. The same goes for any private transaction via Private Message. Even if you attempt to engage in this activity in PM's we will still enforce the forum rules. Your PM's are not private and the administration has the right to read them if there's a hint to criminal activity.

If you are having trouble legally obtaining software please state so. We do not want any hurt feelings when your vague post is mistaken for a free request. It is YOUR responsibility to properly word your request.

To obtain Motorola software see the Sticky in the Motorola forum.

The various other vendors often permit their dealers to sell the software online (i.e., Kenwood). Please use Google or some other search engine to find a dealer that sells the software. Typically each series or individual radio requires its own software package. Often the Kenwood software is less than $100 so don't be a cheapskate; just purchase it.

For M/A Com/Harris/GE, etc: there are two software packages that program all current and past radios. One package is for conventional programming and the other for trunked programming. The trunked package is in upwards of $2,500. The conventional package is more reasonable though is still several hundred dollars. The benefit is you do not need multiple versions for each radio (unlike Motorola).

This is a large and very visible forum. We cannot jeopardize the ability to provide the RadioReference services by allowing this activity to occur. Please respect this.

Being in Michigan, that got my attention. Are the differences able to be disclosed?

Michigan has only approved firmware 1.01 currently they work very closely with us and like to thoroughly test each firmware before approving it.

Is J newer than K? A poster above yours has K, but you said that J is the latest.

J comes before K in the alphabet, so it seems counterintuitive.

K is newer than J, Sometimes i release a newer firmware to a limited few just for testing purposes.

Is there a way to copy the Unication G5 or G4's recorded audio to a computer? I don't see any obvious way to do that.

We have been working on this feature. I have just been authorized to allow the members of this forum to test this utility. Remember this is a very early version of the utility and may be different from the final version. It may also contain bugs that have not been discovered. All I ask in return is that you give me your feedback so that we can make improvements on its final design. To receive this Utility please send an e-mail to david@unication.com to receive a download link.

Thanks. That'll work! It's take a long time to download 1000 messages, and I didn't see a way to cancel it, so I just let it run. If possible, adding a Cancel button to the downloading message box, would be nice.

I'm not sure how much I'll actually need to use it, I think if the text files included the actual talkgroup ID on trunked systems, instead of what appears to be an index number in the pager's database, it would be more useful.

voice File Name: AG5V660088_20160729_130912.wav

Received time: 2016-07-29 13:09:12
From ID: 0
From Name: [7211820]
To ID: 19 <----- make this the actual talkgroup on the trunked radio system, not the memory index in the pager.
To Name: FW Fire 4
Protocol: P25 Trunking

if you just used a scanner you would have the record capabilities there or buy a Moto and hook it up to a PC full time and record on your windows machine, or maybe some SDR dongels see it would be so easy.
