Uniden 7" Android 4.0 tablet

I am working with my home WiFi, wireless with Time Warner, it's the only connection I can get since everything else is locked you know? I've tried clearing stuff and changing the options. And yes Sir I made sure I put in the SSID and the secure password in correctly, I just can't connect to anything, I have been trying to use the browser it came with, then I tried and installed the Opera one, the only way I got to install it was getting it transfered from my phones SD card when I had put it in the tablet. I have no clue what is wrong with it.

It sounds like you have dud with broken Wifi. Have you gotten anything else using the Wifi connection that's working? The only other suggestion is to use the restore to factory settings and start over or re-installing the firmware. Uniden Tablet Support Site

I am sorry to bother you but I'm looking at this 7" tablet. I am new to the tablet world and to here. I wonder if you or anyone else here can please answer a few questions for me. I really just need to verify some things.
Can I use this as an Ereader (Kindle, etc.)? My brother has the Kindle app on his Samsung Galaxy 2 with Android and I have the same on my IPhone 3GS. Would this use the same things?
Along the same lines, can I get games and such from the Gapps link spoken about here? I'm talking about simple games like Angry Birds and Wurdle.
Does it have a browser and email applications? I have Wifi at home and at work to do this.
Finally, can this download movies from Netflix?
Any help you or someone else can give me on this will be most appreciated.

I recently got this tablet and it seems pretty good considering the price. Have not tried an e-reader app yet or the preloaded browser or email, but saved webpages and pdf's open fine on it. And several free app "apk" files downloaded from on-line sites ( TorrApk - Search an apk file by category ) installed and ran just fine, i.e. angry birds / rio, pool master pro, solitaire, etc. Transferred the apk files from my pc via the usb cable and the install was easy enough.

The performance of it seems quick enough for my use, no complaint about the 1GHz CPU or capacitive touchscreen, its a bargain and comparable to my sisters iPad2.
And preloaded with a decent set of apps: browser, email, youtube, facebook, twitter, officesuite, adobe pdf reader and flash, soundhound, some wallpapers, to name a few. Overall, very satisfied with it.

Firmware for UTAB71

Southerntelecom recently posted the firmware for the UTAB71, the file is around 300MB and includes a how-to PDF for re-flashing the tablet. Its a good download to store on a cd-r for safe keeping in case of a need to restore it to the original factory setting.

Out of curiosity, if anyone re-flashed it does it also include all the preloaded apps that came with it?

Well it seems it's my wifi connection that won't let me connect. If I am anywhere else it connects without any trouble. Is it firewall or anything on my computer preventing it from connecting? Or anything else? I keep trying everything by unlocking and allowing but I still don't know

It sounds like wifi firewall. Make sure you have the correct SSID and password entered.

To all: the Uniden 7" Android Tablet is no longer manufactured or sold. EBay may have a few used. It was a great buy for 60 bucks but had a few quirks and manufacturing defects. The defects were the jack for the power supply became intermittent internally and the usb port broke internally. The other quirks were certain apps were not compatible and the battery has a life of about two years. was never able to open case to repair mechanical defects.
