Kevin, do a little research in the Wiki under Uniden scanners. Also, take note of the posts about ChatComm and Fulton county here in the GA forum. Fulton County has rebanded. The 250D does not support rebanding. You will need to get a newer scanner that handles the lower frequencies.

The Fulton system had a couple of frequency swaps with Sprint-Nextel, but the system had no NPSPAC channels, so the old channel numbering assignments are still being used as all system channels are in the 850's. They just swapped a couple of control channels, so repogram your scanner accordingly. No need to load any special bandmaps.

MTS2000des, the 97 doesn't take the lower frequencies. That is why the 163/164 were introduced a couple of years ago.
Larry

Just a note: the system has completely rebanded. No more 860MHz frequencies. This has been updated in the RR database.

I have no problem listening to the system with my 1998 era Pro-2050, just added the new control channels. The system is not using the new rebanded channel assignment identifiers.

Larry, FYI, the Fulton system never had any voice or control channels above 860MHz. It's been purely on 853-859 since it went on the air in 1989.

Ignore what I have been saying. I just went to a old file from when I had a 97, and Fulton county frequencies were in the 850MHz range as MT2000des has stated. Make sure that you have the latest firmware update in the scanner. I don't know why, other than you didn't have the CC's programmed correctly. Or, the bank correctly. I do know that it has to be programmed as a Type II system. I wish you had software so that I could see how the scanner is programmed.

OK..What kind of firmware and what to look for and where to go to get if needed.. And how to install

Do you think my Uniden bearcat 250, will work.. Do you live close to me, I live in Alpharetta, Ga Maybe we can meet and you can show me how to program my pro-97 scanner, and maybe my Uniden too.

Do you have any scanners for sale like the Pro-163, and the 164..

Thanks sir once again

Do you at least have a programming cable? That is needed to upload the firmware into the scanner. Download Win97 onto your pc. It is free for thirty days. Link: Software for RadioShack PRO-series (PRO-92, 93, 95, 96, 97, 99, 163, 164, 106, 197) and GRE PSR-series (PSR-500, 600, 300, 400) scanners
The 97 is probably one of the easiest scanners I ever owned to program trunked systems into.
One thing you might do is to reinitialize your scanner to take it to manufacturers defaults. Then, make sure that these three CC's are programmed into your scanner: 855.6625, 856.3875, and 857.8625 as MOT, and that the bank is in MOT. Follow the directions from the manual for programming 800 Type II systems. If you still are having problems we will meet. I'll get back to you on the firmware updates, if any, for the 97.

No firmware updates for the 97. That is what was new about the 163/164. Now they are coming out with the PSR310/410 which has the same memory setup as the PSR-500/600 and RS Pro-106/197 scanners. Have been thinking about getting a 310 because of that. The USB programming cable works fine on the 97.

reply i do have usb cable

Larry I do have a programming cable, and it came with operation
n cd for downloading etc. The problem is when got everything hooked up and ready for down load, nothing was happen. I even became a premium customer on RR, so I could use the up to date. But anyway couldn't upload into radio, the scanner said cloan. That's after I inserted the programming cable in place. Didn't get anywhere with it.

How too

Larry, do I need to download this win97 file into my computer and then into my scanner, if you could please give me some direction on how to download into my scanner and then how to send it to you.
Thanks..
Kevin,

Arc300. Download Win97. It is free for 30 days. Download the scanner into Win97 and send me the file. I'll look at it and make sure that it is correct.
