Maybe it's the quality of the wires used, but 10 feet doesn't seem that long a reach. I have a couple of long cables I use for charging only, so I haven't tried sending data over them. I don't know that it would be specific problem for the SDS.

i have bought a ton of these cables recently and none work and all claim to be power and data so maybe they wont work for 10 feet on the sds 200 is my guess

well i think its the length for data because charging on things work fine but it cant fint the sds200 so thats where iam at
It would be interesting to try and run a continuity test using a DMM; however probing the small end would be a challenge. Perhaps a female socket could be salvage from a broken device. Or perhaps sacrifice one and cut the small end off, does it have only two wires? (Two wires data only)

Looks like Amazon is selling a ton of the GS116NA Netgear 16 port unmanaged 1G switches $71 don't know about shipping to Puerto Rica but this maybe a good choice if shipping is reasonable.

bought one brand new for 35.00 free shipping thanks it should be here by 6th
Ok, I hope it works for you.

I did have a thought on the long USB cable not working - some of the cables that I have tested with the meter showed open on the metal outside ends. That indicates to me that shield is not connected on one or both ends. I would think this might cause RFI to cause issues on the data.

Perhaps the longer cable is acting like an antenna and picking up more RFI then the short one.

It's a long shot but is fast and easy to test, only requires a digital multi meter set to the continuity bell and does not require cutting the cable.
