No...it clears the SD card, puts the propr files needed to program. All other scanner settings remain.

After that is done, Write to Scanner and follow the rest of the directions

Have you tried to see if you can receive your closest NOAA weather frequency? You can import that frequency quickly and directly from the keyboard. While it's scanning, press the channel button, then enter the frequency on the scanner's keypad, then push the channel button again.

Ok gang...after doing all the advice and directions...I am calling the coroner and declaring it DOA. The scanner is dead. It did, however, pick up the NWS. Go figure.

Thanks guys!

When the scanner is on after all of this, what do you see on the display?

When you press 0 Enter, what happens?

Ok...the screen shows the scanner actively scanning. Periodically, it will stop on a P25 channel and you will traffic for about 2 seconds...then it continues to scan afterward....even though the traffic is continuing on the Whistler scanner.

When I press 0 (zero) it shows this: see attached...

It does nothing

That would be the reason you aren't seeing anything. Nothing is programmed so you missed a step. Go back to the instructions and work through it. I don't think the scanner is DOA.

You need to press the "E" key after zero if you're trying to enable a quick key

Next time it stops on a channel try quickly pressing the Channel button to HOLD on that channel. Is the transmission still interrupted when held on that channel?

it does scan...as you can see in the screenshot. I know there has to be an issue that's right in front of us...I just can't find it.

Based on that screen shot, it appears you are still scanning the Full Database. There is a couple of check boxes you'll need to uncheck then re write to scanner. Also you should Erase All Favorite Lists to limit your scanning to 1 favorite list.

Under profile..uncheck write full database. Your also prompted in the Write to Scanner box. Uncheck them.

This wouldn't explain the interruptions every 2 seconds though and it doesn't appear as if priority scan is enabled either (PRI would show up on screen if it were) Anyway to turn off full database without Sentinel, press Menu knob then scroll to Set Scan Selection > Select Lists to Monitor > Full Database: Off. Only the favorites lists containing what you want to monitor should be set "On"

That's why I'm suggesting eliminating all the previous programming. Start with 1 system, no priority enabled and work up from there.

As you can see from the screen shot, where the favorite list is at, it's a dash which means it wasn't assigned.

If erasing all the current programming, turn Monitor and Download OFF for everything except what I sent, we can figure it out

I just cleared everything out once again. I am ONLY writing Boyd County system in the radio. I will keep monitor/download OFF and re-write.

Then we will start again from there.

I would turn everything to download and monitor ON, you can still limit it to Boyd County once everything is programmed.

Your post #55 screen shot, still does not including the service type that need to verify as others have mentioned.
